Job Description Summary
The Vice President, Launch Excellence and Insights will lead BD’s Marketing Center of Excellence (COE) focused on driving world-class product launches and actionable market insights. This role is pivotal in shaping BD’s marketing strategy, ensuring flawless execution of launches, and embedding insight-driven decision-making across the enterprise.Reporting to the SVP, Chief Marketing Officer, this leader will set standards, institutionalize best practices, and deliver measurable impact on growth, customer experience, and commercial success working with Business Unit and Regional Marketing Leadership teams.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Champion and execute BD’s global framework for Launch Excellence and Insights, aligned with enterprise priorities and The BD Way of Marketing.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to BU and regional marketing leaders, ensuring consistency and rigor in launch planning and execution.
- Drive integration of insights into marketing strategies, leveraging advanced analytics, VOC methodologies, and predictive modeling to inform decisions.
Launch Excellence
- Establish gold-standard processes for launch readiness, including economic modeling, demand forecasting, pricing, and omnichannel activation.
- Oversee development of comprehensive launch plans for key strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment across cross-functional teams.
- Monitor and report launch performance metrics, driving continuous improvement and accountability.
Insights & Analytics
- Lead enterprise-wide insights generation, including market segmentation, behavioral analysis, and competitive intelligence.
- Translate insights into actionable strategies for growth, pricing, and customer engagement.
- Champion data-driven decision-making and embed advanced analytics capabilities within the marketing function.
Collaboration & Governance
- Partner with BU marketing teams to ensure alignment of launch and insight strategies with business objectives.
- Govern and standardize marketing processes across the enterprise, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
Lead and develop a high-performing team
- Provide strategic direction, coaching, and mentorship to direct reports and cross-functional teams.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Ensure talent development, succession planning, and engagement initiatives align with BD’s leadership competencies and organizational goals.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Experience: 15+ years in marketing leadership roles within MedTech or related industries, with proven expertise in product launches and market insights.
- Skills:
- Deep understanding of marketing strategy, pricing, and commercialization processes.
- Strong analytical and financial acumen (P&L, forecasting, economic modeling).
- Exceptional leadership and influencing skills across a matrixed organization.
- Expertise in omnichannel marketing, digital platforms, and customer experience.
- Competencies: Strategic thinking, collaboration, change leadership, and ability to drive enterprise-wide impact.

Salary Range Information
$207,900.00 - $374,200.00 USD Annual
