Job Description
The Business Development Manager supports the Business Leader in spotting opportunities and strengthening the company’s market position. The role drives portfolio growth through strategic go-to-market execution, to expand BD’s coverage and market penetration.
Job Responsibilities:
I. Market Development & Strategic Planning
Lead market assessments to identify growth opportunities, unmet clinical needs, and competitive dynamics.
Develop and execute business development strategies aligned with country and regional priorities.
II. Operation Execution and Stakeholder Engagement
Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities
Partner with the sales team to drive demand generation activities and ensure alignment with strategic priorities.
Build and maintain trusted relationships with hospital directors, department heads, key decision makers, and government healthcare authorities.
Lead reimbursement execution projects as assigned.
III. Distributor Management
Evaluate, appoint, and manage distributors to ensure adequate coverage, capability, and performance.
Conduct business reviews and market development planning with partners.
Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and operational excellence expectations.
IV. Reporting, Analytics, and Support to Business Leader
Track business performance and provide regular updates to management.
Lead to analyze market trends, competitor activities, pricing dynamics, and customer insights to generate strategic recommendations.
Develop dashboards, business reviews, and other administrative or analytical reports to support the Business Leader.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, medical technology, pharmacy, business, or related fields
5+ years of experience in business development, distributor management, or commercial strategy in the medical device industry.
Proven track record of driving growth, managing complex accounts and projects, and executing strategic initiatives.
Strong understanding of Vietnam’s healthcare system, tender processes, reimbursement landscape, and hospital operations.
Experience working in an MNC environment with matrix reporting preferred.
Key Competencies
Solid experience in the medical consumables market with solid commercial acumen and strategic thinking.
Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, able to influence across all levels internally and externally.
Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to translate data into clear business insights.
Self-motivated, results-oriented, proactive, and committed to continuous improvement with high ethical standards.
Willing to travel frequently
Ethical, compliant, and customer-focused mindset
Excellent command of Vietnamese and English (written and spoken)
