Job Description Summary
Requirement: Availability to relocate to BD Añasco.Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical leadership in the maintenance, trouble shooting, modifications, and qualification of automated production equipment
Perform Installation, Operational Qualification, PO and Engineering Studies related to PLC, HMI, Vision systems and other automation device modifications to actual or new installations
Conduct on the job or formal training sessions for Technicians and Set-Up Operators
Provide technical mentorship to Maintenance Technicians in the Trouble shooting, Preventive and Corrective Maintenance of Automated Production Equipment
Provide support to technicians, if applicable, assigned to each production area to evaluate, recommend, and implement improvements to the Maintenance Instructions for Production equipment
Responsible for the automation aspects of the actual, new process or equipment technology transfers. Perform programming and configuration changes to automation and control equipment such as PLCs, Vision Systems, HMIs, motor drives, sensors, and others
Develop and implement software change control and disaster recovery procedures for automation systems such as PLCs, HMIs, servomotor drivers, Vision inspection systems
Develop procedures for the operation, trouble shooting and maintenance automation related devices such as servomotors, PLCs, sensors, encoders, and vision inspection systems. Train Maintenance Technicians and Set Up operators on these procedures.
Build procedures for the configuration, adjustments, routine challenge and other verification procedures for Vision Systems, sensors, and other inspection devices. Train Maintenance Technicians and Set-up Operators these procedures
Design and implement automation related improvement projects requiring modification of existing devices or installation of new devices or equipment to improve production line efficiency.
Responsible for achieving project goals contributing to the attainment of plant objectives.
Position may be assigned to second shift as needed to provide technical leadership presence and continuity to equipment trouble shooting.

Education and Experience Required:
Associate degree in Industrial Automation required or Bachelor degree in Engineering preferred
5 years’ experience in an Engineering/Maintenance position in the Pharmaceutical or Medical Device Industry
Minimum 1 year experienced in PLC programming and trouble shooting
Minimum 1 year experienced in Visions System operation and trouble shooting
Proficient in Electronics, Electricity, and Industrial Mechanics
Proficient in reading and interpretation of Engineering, electrical and electronic diagrams, and machine drawings
Experience in the design and building of control panels for production equipment preferred
Prior supervisory experience preferred
Knowledge and Skills:
Demonstrated leadership skills based on outstanding technical knowledge
Bilingual oral and written communication skills (English/Spanish)
Exposure to qualification protocols and software change control procedures
Knowledge of cGMPs, FDA, ISO and OSHA regulations and requirements
Good interpersonal skills required to lead a group of technicians and interact daily with Engineering, Production and Quality Assurance personnel
