General Accounting Manager JG4 

Job Description Summary

TheGeneralAccounting Managerplaysan important rolein ensuringaccuratefinancial reporting and compliance. Reporting to the Senior Accounting Managerand/or Global Operations Lead, thisrole will beoverseeingthegeneral accountingprocessesfor the regionconducted by both our internalteamand our third-party service provider.This roleis responsibleforensuring compliance within establishedCompany policies,regulationsand accounting practices, and providing support to internal and external stakeholders. 

This roleis expected tocollaboratewith our third-partyserviceproviderondaily operations andtoidentifyand implement process improvements in the general accounting and general ledger system by researching and assessing workflow procedures and policies.Withdifferent levelsof participation, theGeneralAccounting Managerwillassistin various projects through their completion. 

Key Responsibilities:

  GeneralLedger & Accounting Governance

  • Ensure the integrity of the general ledger across multiple ERP environments byestablishingand driving standardized accounting processes

  • Provide oversight and approval of journal entries, including accruals, reclasses, payroll, stock compensation, and T&E-related postings

  • Ensure all accounting entriescomply withapplicable accounting standards, internal policies, and key controls

  Reconciliation& Balance Sheet Control

  • Oversee balance sheet and subledger reconciliation processes, ensuring completeness, accuracy, andtimelyresolution of discrepancies

  • Drive root cause analysis of aged items, abnormal balances, and recurring issues, ensuringappropriate escalationand resolution plans

  • Ensure prepayments, accruals, and amortization schedules are accurately recorded and monitored

  Accruals, Prepayments & Expense Management

  • Ensure robust governance over accrual processes, including validation of open invoices, collaboration with PO owners, and completeness of recorded liabilities

  • Oversee the tracking andtimelyrecognition of recurring accruals and related adjustments

  • Ensureappropriate accountingtreatment of prepayments and systematic amortization

  Third-Party (BPO) Service Provider Management

  • Provideoperationaloversight and governance of third-party service providers to ensure high-quality,timely, and compliant service delivery

  • Establish clear performance expectations andmonitordelivery against SLAs, KPIs, and control requirements

  • Partner with providers to resolve escalations, drive continuous improvement, and ensure alignment with company policies and procedures

  Audit, Compliance & Internal Controls

  • Accountable for compliance toSOX and internal control frameworksfor general accounting for the region, ensuring effective design and execution of controlsfor general accounting for the region

  • Act as the primary point of contact forUS GAAPinternal and external auditsfor General Accounting team, ensuringtimelyand effective resolution of audit findings

  • Reinforce a strong control environment across all accounting processes and service delivery models

  Cross-Functional & Regional Leadership

  • Act as a key liaisonfor General Accountingfor the regionwith RSO andacross Corporate, Business Unitsand other key stakeholders

  • Provide accounting guidance and leadership across multiple legal entitiesfor the regionand coordinate withGeneralAccounting Senior Manager to ensurestandardizedapproach across the regionsFor complex accounting treatment, ensure to alignand partnerwith RSO, Global TechnicalaccountingandCorporate Controllers.

  ProcessStandardization & Continuous Improvement

  • Drive the standardization of accounting processes across multiple ERP environments and regionsin coordination with GPO

  • Identifyand implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and best practices to enhance efficiency and quality

  • Ensure all processes are well-documented through robust desktop procedures andmaintainedfor consistency and audit readiness

  TeamLeadership & Performance Management

  • Provide leadership, oversight, and direction to theGeneralaccounting teamof the regionincluding BPO partners, ensuring high performance and accountability

  • Review team outputs (journal entries, reconciliations, accruals) to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance

  • Drive ownership of KPIs and service delivery metrics, ensuring continuous performance improvement

  Project& Stakeholder Management

  • Lead accounting-related projects and initiatives, ensuringtimelydelivery and alignment with strategic objectives

  • Build strong stakeholder relationships and foster collaboration across functions and geographies

Additional responsibilities: 

  • Integrate Accounting processes from acquired companies into existing processes  

  • Ensure that all processes and policies are compliant with Internal Audit and Sarbanes-Oxley control requirements  

  • Prepare Quarterly balance sheet reconciliation and reasonableness flux analysis,reviewand remediation, as needed

  • Identify and implement processes improvements and automation opportunities  

  • Communicate directly with multiple functions and businesses and senior management within the organization  

  • Reviewof non-standard ad-hoc journal entries as needed in line with policies  

  • General Accounting Team oversight,mentoringand coaching   

  • Timely updateand escalationof key tasks toGlobal Operations leadership

  • Other tasks that may be assigned in line with Global Operations leadership 

Education and Experience:

  • MinimumBA/BS Degree in Accounting 

  • Minimum8-10years’ experienceinAccounting

  • Minimum5yearsof supervisory experience,experience managing other countries/regions a plus

  • Strong technical accounting standards knowledge – US GAAP and/or IFRS       

  • Experienceinworking in a regional or global shared service environment 

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with SAP background, Blackline reconciliation background a plus 

Skills:

  • Strong analytical / problem solving skills 

  • Good and clear English communication skills 

  • Strong stakeholder management capabilities with good interpersonal/relationship building skills across diverse cultures 

  • Ability to identify areas of issue and provide resolution 

  • Ability to work in a self-directed manner with little direct supervision 

  • Proven process/continuous improvement experience. 

  • Demonstrates people management skills andability to embody servant leadership principles

  • Able to work in shiftsand manage teams working in shiftsas part of Global Operations team
