Job Responsibilities: (Primary Duties, Roles, and/or Authorities)
 Represent the facility from the process safety perspective during third party audits, (company sponsored internal audit), NOM028, EPA, OSHA, and BD Standards.
 Work as a liaison between site’s PSM team, process and project engineering and maintenance to ensure that the project safety aspects are captured in site activities and projects.
 Develop and maintain facility safety and environmental procedures that support corporate and regulatory requirements.
 Document and input process safety packages into electronic formats.
 Interface with and influence Operations, Maintenance, and Safety, Training, and Engineering staff to ensure that hazards are identified, risk is appropriately managed, and the 14 elements of Process Safety Management regulation and NOM-028 Requirements are meet.
 Coordinate the ownership for execution of projects and action items related to High Hazard processes.
 Work with engineers to coordinate High Hazard activities, projects, MOCs/PSSRs.
 Lead the development and documentation of standard operating procedures and safe operating limits.
 Work with engineers to manage a mechanical integrity program.
 Mentor, coach train site employees on process safety management programs (CFR 1910.119) are in compliance.
 Ensure all changes to processes are controlled through Management of Change and Pre- Startup Safety Review procedures.
 Must be available for “Engineering on call” activities in the future.
 Has the authority to stop processes that are generating quality problems.
 Has the authority to take actions when there is a risk that endangers human life, quality of
the product or damage of the property.
 Ensure compliance with STPS and corporate regulations in the assigned area (Production, Facilities, Contractors, Warehouses).
 Implement, execute, and maintain the STPS Standards and corporate programs assigned.
 Provides support to assigned areas to ensure compliance with corporate metrics.
 Develop strategies and projects aimed at reducing accidents and first aid in its area of interference.
 Participate in weekly meetings presenting Safety analysis and results.
 Develops communication campaigns aimed at building a safety culture.
 Conduct and support accident investigations to ensure root cause has been identified and prevention measures have been implemented.
 Conduct Safety Gemba Walks.
 Leads the contractor program within the company.
 Participate in the validation of machinery and processes with safety evaluations.
 Supervises and ensures that the installation of machinery and modifications to the building are carried out safely and in compliance with the corresponding permits.
 Carry out inspections of the activities and work plans of contractors.
 Participate in assigned CAPAs.

Education and Experience:
 Engineering- focused on Environment, Industrial or chemical. (Certificate).
 Minimum 5 years of experience in environmental, hygiene or safety or in manufacturing industries. PSM-related industry experience and CAD experience is preferred.

Language Skills: Proficient
