By aligning and streamlining our work, our Integrated Diagnostic Solutions (IDS) business unit aims to drive growth and innovation in everything from integrated sample management to diagnostic solutions. The Integrated Diagnostic Solutions (IDS) unit is currently looking for:

Molding Manager it is responsible for molding and assembly proceses optimization for cost reductions and improve labor eficiency . To implement the preventive maintenance plans, new technologies and design tools and machines to solve manufacturing problems. Additionally to manage Technical and administrative personnel assigned, implementing initiatives related to the tool shop to improve the manufacturing of tools and Molds.

Job Description

Functions and Responsibilities

• Manages and coordinates the Molding Engineers and Technicians to ensure optimal planning of the molding areas and the Tool Shop.
• Assists in the planning of capital projects and develops implementation strategies.
• Manages and coordinates resources and workload of the mold and fixture shop for production.
• Strategically plans the service capacity to meet with the molding process requirements.
• Reviews and adjusts operational data such as cost and expense forecasts. Creates organizational charts.
• Designs, maintains, and improves the molds and the molded part processes. Applies quantitative models for capacity planning at various timescales. Manages the resource capacity to serve internal and external customers.
• Leads solutions for demand fluctuations.
• Plans the manufacturing and maintenance of critical molding area assets. Seeks continuous improvement in the molding processes.
• Designs tools, processes, and workstations.
• Implements methods or systems to improve efficiency.
• Conducts ergonomic and corrective assessments.
• Reinforces safety conditions in the workshop.
• Develops manufacturing processes (automation, etc.).
• Estimates investments for new processes. Leads Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
• Prepares budgets for equipment and processes during line transfers.
• Actively participates in asset management with the suppliers.
• Resolves situations that pose quality risks in production molding.
• Implements cost–saving projects.

Requirements

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial/Mechanical/Electromechanical Engineering or related field.          
• Three years in Molding Manufacturing Operations.

Knowledge and Skills

• Scientific modeling and decoupling skills, strong computer skills such as Word processing, Spreadsheets, AutoCAD, MS Project, Microsoft Office, Office Tools, and Visio.
• Strong communication skills.
• Dynamic, organized, with a sense of urgency.
• Positive attitude with strong interpersonal and organizational skills, competent, responsible, and able to work under pressure.
• Bilingual; English and Spanish, written and spoken.
• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in English (preferably).
