Job Description

  • Collaborate closely with people leaders and associates to ensure the implementation of HR and leadership practices, processes, and programs that support organizational effectiveness and associate development.
  • Partner with the plant leadership team to ensure the effective execution of primary annual BD HR processes, such as talent and succession planning, performance management, development, and compensation.
  • Identify organizational needs in collaboration with the leadership team and lead the implementation and effective training on-site.
  • Analyze indicator data to anticipate and address areas of opportunity.
  • Implement strategies for associate engagement, positive relationships, diversity awareness, and a healthy workplace environment.
  • Manage key HR areas: talent acquisition, labor relations, training, talent development, communication, HR services, compensation, and benefits.
  • Promote a healthy work environment, ensuring compliance with occupational health and wellness standards.
  • Manage change according to business needs and adjustments to established models.
  • Partner with the Plant Manager to lead constructive and reflective calibration sessions on associates' performance and potential.
  • Collaborate on the introduction and/or integration of HR processes, practices, programs, and initiatives that contribute to individual and company success.
  • Define opportunity areas with the people leader and establish action plans to improve employee satisfaction and retention.
  • Participate in collective union negotiations and facilitate communication between management and union representatives.
  • Partner with specialized teams to ensure programs are competitive, equitable, and market-efficient.
  • Collaborate with internal and external legal teams to ensure compliance with applicable laws, BD's Code of Conduct, and company policies and procedures.
  • Develop and ensure compliance with the approved HR operational budget

Professional career completed.

  • 5-10 years of experience in HR management role in a union environment.
  • Knowledge of related federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Extensive knowledge of labor relations practices and legal requirements.
  • Proficient computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office, email, and data base programs.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills across multiple levels, functions, and cultures.
  • Interpersonal and cross-cultural knowledge.
  • Bilingual English & Spanish.
