Job Description
We are looking for a Technical Leader with solid experience in highly automated industrial environments. This role is responsible for leading and developing a technical team to ensure the operational continuity of production, maximizing equipment availability, reliability, and performance.
The position is aligned with BD Excellence and TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) principles, promoting a culture of operational excellence, continuous improvement, and strong leadership.
The Technical Leader will drive maintenance strategies (PM & AM), optimize spare parts management, and collaborate cross-functionally with production and engineering to eliminate chronic losses and improve asset performance.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, coach, and develop the technical team, ensuring alignment with plant and company objectives.
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
- Motivate team members to achieve high standards in quality, service, and cost efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all established procedures and best practices.
Operational & Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Production and Engineering to support daily decision-making and ensure effective technical support.
- Participate in TMS meetings, providing engineering status updates and aligning on priorities, resources, and timelines to eliminate losses.
- Evaluate support provided to production areas and implement improvements when required.
Maintenance Management (PM & AM)
- Define, plan, and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance activities within the area of responsibility.
- Support and drive the deployment of Autonomous Maintenance (AM).
- Ensure timely and effective execution of maintenance activities (AM/PM).
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Planner to ensure proper documentation and planning of tasks.
- Conduct regular maintenance audits to identify improvement opportunities.
- Develop and implement strategies to eliminate recurring and critical breakdowns.
Reliability & Continuous Improvement
- Lead and participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to resolve complex failures and eliminate repeat issues.
- Promote the use of problem-solving methodologies and technical tools.
- Drive standardization and ensure adherence to maintenance and technical standards.
- Ensure optimal availability, maintainability, and reliability of equipment.
- Maintain accurate and updated documentation (manuals, schematics, maintenance plans).
Spare Parts & Cost Optimization
- Define and manage spare parts strategy, ensuring availability and cost optimization.
- Monitor and control inventory to balance service level and financial efficiency.
Performance Management & KPIs
- Track and analyze maintenance KPIs using maintenance systems and tools.
- Ensure data-driven decision-making.
- Define and implement action plans to improve performance indicators.
- Compliance & Safety
- Ensure full compliance with:
- BD quality systems, policies, and procedures
- Local, state, and federal regulations
- BD safety standards and guidelines
- Promote a strong safety culture within the team.
Qualifications
- Engineering Degree (Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field): Preferred
- Technical/Vocational Training (FP): Required
- Proficient level of english (B2/C1 level)
- Minimum 7 years of experience in manufacturing within highly automated environments: Required
- Minimum 5 years of experience leading technical teams: Required
- Strong operational leadership

Salary range for the role: 50k/58k€
