Pharmaceutical Systems (PS)
With innovative pre-fillable syringes, self-injection systems, safety systems and needle technologies, the Pharmaceutical Systems (PS) team offer an extensive selection of solutions designed to protect, package and deliver drug therapies.
Main Responsibilities
Drives upstream (pipeline) technical customer relationship:
- Serves as the strategic technical point of contact for assigned accounts or segments.
- Coordinates expert-to-expert discussions and ensures alignment with BD’s commercial and technical strategy.
- Establishes structured communication routines with customers.
- Drives joint BD-customer initiatives to grow account value (e.g., service offerings, strategic promotions, value-shifting).
- Plans and participates in external technical meetings and plant visits, preparing and presenting technical content.
- Builds and influences relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Collaborates with Business Development, Sales, and Marketing to identify opportunities and influence decisions.
Acts as the liaison between the customer and internal parties:
- Coordinates with cross-functional account teams and internal groups (functions, platforms, regional leaders) to review strategy and resolve challenges.
- Influences scope definition and execution of strategic initiatives.
- Participates in therapeutic segment cross-functional meetings when relevant.
- Navigates complex situations and matrix structures, escalating when needed to ensure win-win outcomes.
- Acts as the Voice of Customer internally and brings the Voice of Business to the customer.
- Collaborates with Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain, and R&D to ensure execution of initiatives, through influence rather than authority.
- Contributes to regional strategic planning, adapting global initiatives to local needs.
Serves as a technical expert:
- Collects, analyzes, and translates customer inputs into actionable solutions and plans.
- Educates customers and internal teams on BD Pharmaceutical Systems products and processes.
- Advises on product solutions and coordinates with R&D for complex inquiries.
- Develops and promotes technical support services for drug development.
- Shares competitive intelligence, market trends, and unmet needs to inform strategy.
- Monitors regulatory and scientific developments impacting the industry.
- Anticipates future customer needs and industry trends to define new solutions and opportunities.
- Represents BD externally in technical forums, customer meetings, industry events, academia, and associations, acting as a technical reference and brand ambassador in Latin America.
Contributes to overarching business strategy and performance:
- Synthesizes customer insights to define broader segment strategies.
- Supports strategic initiatives aligned with business KDGs and helps shape functional strategy.
- Aligns BD’s commercial and technical needs to influence therapeutic segment/platform strategy.
- Leverages cross-functional capabilities to maximize value for customers and BD.
- Mentors and develops associates in technical and leadership skills.
- Assesses service needs and defines proposals.
- Defines service approaches and contributes to identifying new business opportunities.
Mandatory:
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Engineering, Chemistry, or related scientific fields.
- Solid experience in the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in product development, quality systems, regulatory affairs, or other technical functions.
- Experience in roles or activities involving direct customer interaction.
- Fluent in English and Portuguese.
- Intermediate Spanish
- Demonstrated ability to lead remotely and work effectively in multicultural environments.
Preferred:
- Experience in people management or project leadership.
