Utility Technician

Location: BD Tuas Plant, Singapore

As a Utility Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting our production operations by ensuring the right materials are available at the right time, helping our manufacturing teams deliver critical medical devices that make a difference to patients' lives.

What You'll Be Doing

In this role, you will be a key contributor to the smooth running of our manufacturing operations by:

  • Supporting daily material issuance, replenishment, and inventory activities based on production schedules.

  • Ensuring uninterrupted production by maintaining the timely flow of components and raw materials to manufacturing lines.

  • Preparing and transferring finished goods and production materials between manufacturing and warehouse areas.

  • Verifying the accuracy and approval status of all materials issued to production.

  • Managing inventory transactions, cycle counts, variance investigations, and inventory accuracy initiatives.

  • Monitoring and maintaining label control processes to ensure compliance and traceability.

  • Returning excess materials from completed production runs and supporting material recovery activities.

  • Monitoring safety stock levels and initiating replenishment requests when required.

  • Participating in shift handovers, team meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, and efficiency.

  • Upholding BD's commitment to workplace safety, environmental sustainability, and operational excellence.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in manufacturing, production, warehouse, logistics, or inventory-related environments is advantageous.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment.

  • Good teamwork and communication skills.

  • Basic computer and inventory management skills.

  • A proactive mindset with a strong focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
