The Operations Manager provides management oversight for assigned business areas in the distribution center. This includes serving as an interface and coordinator between warehouse operations teams and the DC senior leadership. Responsibilities:
Supports the Site leadership in implementation of site strategies
Ensure daily operation for assigned business area runs efficiently, effectively, and safely.
Leverages metrics and analytics to report on progress (i.e. cost per case/line shipped, site budgeted distribution center expense as a percent of sales, inventory, etc.)
Work with internal Business Unit clients to ensure alignment in meeting customer expectations
Supports continuous improvements that will enhance productivity, cost savings, safety, etc.
Manages and/or provides day to day leadership to supervisors and associates
Ensure the site is fully staffed with high quality, engaged associates, zero mandatory overtime is required, and associates are cross-trained, etc.
Conducts staff meetings to relay general information or to address specific topics such as safety, quality, policy changes, etc.
Ensures departmental procedures, SOPs and work instructions are updated and training provided to associates as required.
Assesses the level of talent in key positions and implements development and mentoring activities to promote organizational growth
Coordinates and implements training programs for associates within the distribution center regarding the nature and application of operating policies and procedure
Must ensure safety first environment and be able to work diligently to maintain safe working conditions and adhere to proper operating practices and procedures designed to prevent injuries and illnesses.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 5 years of experience including 1 years of direct P/L experience in a regulated distribution services industry.
Minimum of 1 year of proven leadership experience.
Must have knowledge of inventory and warehouse management systems.
Must have experience in MS Office: Excel, Word, Outlook
COMPETENCIES:
Knowledge of principles and methods for distribution of product.
Ability to perform/operate in a metrics-driven environment.
Expresses information clearly, information is organized in a logical manner; speaks using proper grammar, tone and pace. Practices meaningful two-way communication.
Ability to critically review, analyze, synthesize, compare, and interpret information and apply this when solving problems.
Strong people leadership including developing, coaching, listening, collaborating, and delegating
Project leadership skills
Initiative and drive for results
Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.(manager and supervisors)
Knowledge of GMP/SOP/Work Instructions and be able to develop techniques to ensure adherence to quality standards.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree required and Graduate Degree strongly preferred.
