JOB SUMMARY:
The Project Manager - Diagnostic Solutions, is responsible for the full Implementation Cycles associated with the BD Diagnostics Solutions, as well as the Experience Management associated with the BD solutions. The Implementations and the Experience Management apply to both internal and external projects.
The Full Implementation Project Cycle includes participation in the Sales process pre-contract, initiating the implementation project, executing on the deliverables and through the transition to our service/support services. The Project Manager will drive and own the implementations, document and report out project performance data, actively manage associated project risk, and mitigate open issues from project assignment through project transition.
The Customer Experience Management is key to the success of Diagnostic Solutions strategy and is required to drive a high level of coordination between the different BD departments/functions and Customer teams to ensure a smooth implementation and ongoing customer satisfaction.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Project Management responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Develop, maintain and communicate all project plan details to Customer leadership.
Hold regular meetings with internal/external project teams to check/monitor progress.
Manage and communicate project risks impacting the project or organization.
Consistently update all project stakeholders on high level project status.
Engage local sales and service teams in order to create a sustainable product placement.
Attention to detail for review of order configurations prior to manufacturing requests.
Coordinate install and application resources.
Advise the customer on managing organizational change (Change Management).
Supply consultation to the customer on Lab Information Systems / IT Infrastructure and Services (building interior, power, air, etc.).
Lead Change Management workshops/presentations to engage customer lab staff.
Participate in continuous improvement sessions to the further professionalize the Projects Department.
Customer Experience Management responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Interface effectively with the different BD departments to manage cross functional processes and resolve issues impacting customers.
Supports sales partners’ efforts to attain business objectives.
Continuously benchmark customer processes through Business Reviews, focusing on market trends and customer needs to find opportunities for process improvement and differentiated services.
Manage customer perceptions by leading communications through both regular formal business reviews and informal periodic calls/visits.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in life sciences or engineering
Minimum 3 years of project management experience in a technical or laboratory customer environment
Demonstrated understanding of US Laboratory Diagnostics or Healthcare Industry
Knowledge of Standard Laboratory Practices and Laboratory Regulatory environment (CAP, CLIA, COLA)
Knowledge & Skills
Proven leadership abilities with demonstrated accomplishments in cross-functional projects, teams, and programs
Strong interpersonal skills, including effective internal/external communications
Proficiency in conflict resolution and crisis management
Demonstrated knowledge of Project Management, Risk Management, and Change Management methodologies
Consistent professionalism in all customer and cross-team interactions
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time
Preferred Qualifications
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
LEAN/Six Sigma knowledge or certification
Advanced degree in relevant field
Experience with laboratory automation systems and informatics
