Job Summary
The Field Assurance Technician at BD plays a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of our medical devices by providing technical support, conducting product investigations, and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction in the field.
Job Responsibilities
Perform on-site investigations of product complaints, malfunctions, and adverse events, including data collection, root cause analysis, and documentation.
Provide technical assistance and training to customers, sales representatives, and other field personnel regarding product usage, troubleshooting, and best practices.
Collect and analyze field performance data to identify trends, potential issues, and areas for product improvement.
Collaborate with engineering, quality, and regulatory teams to communicate field findings, support product design changes, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
Generate comprehensive and accurate reports detailing investigation findings, corrective actions, and recommendations.
Manage and track product returns, ensuring proper handling, decontamination, and timely resolution.
Maintain a strong understanding of BD products, their applications, and competitive offerings.
Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines.
Travel extensively to customer sites, hospitals, and clinics as required.
Job Qualifications
Associate's degree in a technical field (e.g., Biomedical Engineering Technology, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering) or equivalent practical experience.
Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in a field service, technical support, or quality assurance role within the medical device industry.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in using technical tools and diagnostic equipment.
Familiarity with medical device regulations (e.g., FDA, ISO 13485) is highly desirable.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel frequently.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
