The Supply Chain team are responsible to bringing billions of life-saving medical devices and diagnostics tests, high-tech instruments and equipment to customers and patients all over the world. Our aim is deliver these products at an affordable cost and of the highest quality.

About the role

The postholder will be responsible for ensuring seamless execution of internal and external customs and trade compliance processes for inbound and outbound shipments across the EMEA region. This includes maintaining adherence to Global, European and regional import/export regulations, such as EU customs code, dual use controls, and country specific trade laws.

Main responsibilities will include:

Trade Compliance & Monitoring

  • Ensure adherence to import/export laws and regulations (e.g., EU Dual-Use Regulation, customs codes).
  • Stay ahead of regulatory changes and assess their impact on our business.

Product Classification & Documentation

  • Assign accurate HS codes and other classification identifiers.
  • Review and validate shipping documents including invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.

Licensing & Permits

  • Manage applications for export/import licenses and permits.
  • Keep records up to date and ensure timely renewals.

Internal Controls & Audits

  • Develop and implement compliance procedures and standard operating practices.
  • Conduct internal audits and risk assessments to identify and close gaps.

Training & Awareness

  • Deliver training sessions to internal teams on trade compliance topics.
  • Foster a culture of compliance across departments.

Screening & Due Diligence

  • Perform denied party screenings and end-use/end-user checks.
  • Ensure alignment with sanctions and embargo regulations.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with logistics, procurement, legal, and business units to support compliant operations.
  • Serve as a liaison with customs authorities and regulatory bodies.

Recordkeeping & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records for audits and regulatory reviews.
  • Prepare reports for internal stakeholders and external agencies.

About you

  • Strong knowledge of customs regulationsacross the EMEA region, including HS classification, valuation, and origin rules.
  • Expertise in export controls, including dual-use goods, sanctions, and licensing requirements.
  • Experience with trade compliance systems(e.g., SAP GTS, Stream Software and other customs software systems) and customs broker platforms.
  • Analytical skillsto interpret complex regulations and identify compliance risks or cost-saving opportunities.
  • Attention to detailin documentation, classification, and regulatory reporting.
  • Effective communication and collaborationwith internal teams and external partners.
  • Process-oriented mindsetwith the ability to streamline administrative workflows while ensuring compliance.
  • Audit readiness and risk managementcapabilities, including support for internal and external audits.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changesand ability to translate them into actionable business guidance.
  • Project management skillsto prioritise multiple compliance initiatives across countries and functions.
  • Proficient in English and Dutch
