Job Description

Job Summary :

The material handler uses a variety of equipment such as forklifts, conveyers, handcarts, to move 
materials, parts, and finished products within the Tucson plant.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Move materials, parts, and finished products within the Tucson plant. “Receive At dock” Process as
per SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) for Carriers delivering Finish Good material to include 
unloading of goods and supplies and ensure the proper handling of the same.
2. Ensure the Cleanliness, housekeeping on shipping and receiving area
3. May maintain records. 
4. Ensuring correct and complete identifying labels are attached to all product processed when 
received, prior to storing or processed. 
5. Develops skills in basic tasks, techniques and procedures within one skill area / process / method.
6. Applies basic knowledge and skills to complete routine tasks consisting of prescribed steps. 
7. Works within clearly defined SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and / or scientific methods 
and adheres to quality guidelines.
8. Notify Quality Representative and crew leader/ supervisor of quality problems
9. Maintain quality Standards, requirements within the warehouse and keeping track of all damage, 
reporting the same to the supervisor’s authorities.
10. Working in accordance with all Safety regulation of the warehouse
11. Coordinating work with fellow workers and other team members. Teamwork environment is to be 
reflected as well as company core competencies/core values in performing work duties.
12. Using a held hand radio frequency, computer system or desktop computer system as required.
13. Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations that affect and impact the warehouse.
14. Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards as defined in BD Quality, Safety 
and Environmental manual and enterprise I.T System.
15 :Any other duties as assigned.

16 :Availability to rotate shifts based on operational needs.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • (1) year warehouse experience or related experience and/or training 1 year experience.

  • Forklift certification 

  • Obtains and/or maintains appropriate licenses / training / certifications, as needed.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Has basic skills training in an analytical / scientific method or operational process area (e.g., 

  • material handling and management, logistics).

  • Ability to read, write, interpret and comprehend documents written in English and perform basic 

  • math calculations.

  • Ability to perform/operate in a metrics-driven environment. 

  • General computer skills.

  • Works independently with minimal guidance.

  • Effective communication skills at a level co-worker.

  • Minimal required supervision.

  • Set priorities among multiple tasks.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to frequently lift, push, pull, and carry materials; stand and walk for extended periods; and perform repetitive bending, reaching, and lifting throughout the workday.
