The Occupational Health Nurse is a licensed healthcare professional responsible for developing, interpreting, and administering employee health and wellness services and organizational safety programs. This role plays a strategic part in site safety initiatives and ensures compliance with local, state, federal, and BD regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Health & Wellness Leadership:

  • Lead health and wellness initiatives for associates.

  • Coordinate industrial health, ergonomic, and wellness programs (e.g., Bloodborne Pathogen, Safety Committee Meetings, Safety Audits).

• Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure site compliance with OSHA, DOT, FMLA, ADA, and other relevant regulations.

  • Maintain OSHA 300 Log, Safety Index, and incident tracking databases.

• Medical Program Administration:

  • Manage respiratory clearance and FIT testing programs.

  • Administer Hepatitis B immunization tracking and BBP program.

  • Oversee Workers’ Compensation and Physical Capacity Profile programs.

• Consultation & Support:

  • Provide consultative guidance on occupational health issues.

  • Promote health maintenance and illness/injury prevention.

  • Collaborate with external healthcare providers and regulatory agencies.

• Reporting & Metrics:

  • Gather and compute health and safety metrics for plant, regional, and corporate reporting.

Qualifications:

• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN)

• Experience in occupational health or related field preferred

• Strong understanding of regulatory compliance (OSHA, ADA, FMLA)

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Ability to uphold BD Values and maintain confidentiality
