Job Description Summary
As EMEA Specimen Management Supply Chain Planning Manager (the “Manager”), you will report to the EMEA Senior Director Supply Chain Planning. You perform an important and integral role in the continuity of supply to provide finished products at agreed service levels to customers in EMEA region while minimizing finished goods inventory investment and inventory risk at the regional level.You participate in different Supply Chain and Business Unit leadership venues to ensure that the demand/supply needs for the regions are satisfied.
You develop strong working relationships with global planners and influence key production planning decisions as an advocate for EMEA region.
The Manager is accountable for the maintenance of appropriate inventory levels for the region taking into consideration replenishment requirements to meet regional service level requirements. In some cases, you may also be responsible for supervising the development of a supply plan or master production schedule with the respective source/ target Distribution Centers (DC) and ensures timely network supply from various sources to the regional DC.
Job Description
Main responsibilities will include:
Demand Planning
Provide vital guidance and leadership for the team with respect to various Demand Planning responsibilities:
- Develop/Maintain a strong Demand Planning process in the EMEA region for assigned platforms in good collaboration with countries and the platforms leaders regionally. The Demand Plan should indirectly influence the global production plan;
- Ensure availability of the products to customers thanks to accurate Demand for the region which indirectly will drive the production schedule of global plants;
- Analyze variance of actuals vs forecasted demand and budgeted figures;
- Ensure good communication and balancing with Supply Plans.
Supply Planning
Provide vital guidance and leadership for the team with respect to various Supply Planning responsibilities:
- Implement and Ensure compliancy of replenishment system processes in alignment with overall Supply Chain strategies;
- Supervise, where appropriate, supply planning process for the manufacturing facilities within the region;
- Resolve issues related to production planning, capabilities, capacities and product flow in the region;
- Call out supply issues, whether in relation to production within the region or outside to worldwide level through participation at Global Supply Review and/or Global Integrated Reconciliation meetings and resolved them;
- Drive the delivery of the regional inventory strategies, including inventory levels, Excess and Obsolete management, ramp up/down and new products launches;
- Analyze variance of actuals replenishment vs forecasted production and budgeted figures.
IBP process facilitation
Ensure timely collection of information from the regional Demand and Supply Planners and review of the appropriate information required for IBP forums to accurately determine regional production plan and eliminate any inefficiencies potentially impacting the key metrics
- Facilitate and conduct when relevant Regional Demand and Supply review
- Facilitate and conduct reconciliation meeting with BU and operational review meeting with Regional Supply Chain Leaders
- Contribute with regional inputs in the Global Demand/Supply Review, ensuring timely collection and review of the appropriate information required for this forum and jointly make decisions to ultimately determine global production
- Represent the region in the Global MBR to discuss issues/strategies from a regional planning perspective
- Maintain appropriate IBP documentation.
Continuous Improvement
- Support leadership in encouraging and motivating the teams to continuously improve process and services
- Assess and improve supply chain model to ensure BD’s ability to respond to changing customer needs, growth in emerging markets, and changes to go-to-market models
- Implement changes to the supply chain system and procedures that will improve supply chain capability and performance
Business & people performance management
- Collaborate closely with the global planning function in leading or supporting global initiatives
- Maintain a strong link to the global business goals and strategies while also aligning and supporting regional objectives
- Assist regional business cross-functional leadership team to understand business strategy and future business needs by participating to various Business forums (e.g. Leadership Team Meeting)
- Hire, develop and lead a team of supply chain professionals
- Ensure accurate follow-up of the HR cycle (i.e. performance review, target settings, individual development plan)
- Contribute to identify talents and develop them
Achieve “Big 4 Metrics" and contribute to their continuous improvement:
- OTIF target
- Inventory target
- Forecast accuracy target
- % of $ on backorder target
About you
- University degree or equivalent experience in Business Management, Supply Chain or related field of study
- APICS certification preferred
- Should have over 10 years of relevant business experience with at least 5 years of direct demand, supply and inventory planning experience in a large complex business environment.
- At least 3 years of previous management or leadership experience supervising planning and inventory management functions or has shown leadership skills through past performance and projects.
- Strong data analytic and statistical experience and skills. Previous use of forecast accuracy measurements to drive improvement (MAPE, Bias, etc.)
- Business level fluency in English required, other European language knowledge a plus
Compensation range for the role: 121 000 to 140 000 CHF
