We are looking for an energetic R&D leader in Senior Staff Engineer capacity to collaborate with dedicated global team of R&D associates, regional leaders and cross functional partners to drive innovation pipeline & goals for $1.9B Medication Delivery and Vascular Care (MDVC) platform. This role will report into Sr Director R&D for MDVC Business platform and will be based out in Franklin Lakes New Jersey location of BD.

What is expected of you for success in your role?

• Find opportunities and develop products by connecting key trends to novel technologies with customer (patient, caregivers) experience. Lead these ideas and projects to commercial success with responsibility for guiding them through innovation playbook and finally handling them over to product development or workstreams.

• Identify external and internal technology growth opportunities and successfully work across the organization to covert these into commercial products. Promote strategy aligned ideas with decision makers to obtain resources for product development.

• Applying your growing network and guidance from experts to develop novel technical solutions.

• Provide influential leadership to the broader team in the achievement of department, division, and growth goals of the company.

• Effective Communication to build alignment across the functions in organization to advance the innovation pipeline and faster resolution to potential bottlenecks.

• Ensure that projects and products are of BD quality.

Qualifications Required:

• BS degree in Engineering, Mechanical or other technical fields of study

• Strong technical skills.

• 6 or more years of proven experience in product development

• A demonstrated track record of technical influential leadership and delivering results.

• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Ability to negotiate and influence decision-makers and lead teams through ambiguity.

• A dedication to delivering on organizational goals.

Preferred:

• Masters or PhD degree in a relevant scientific subject area

• Proven experience converting key trends into relevant products

• A broad background with experiences in Manufacturing, Quality, Marketing in addition to Product Development.

• Proven experience developing and commercializing products in the medical device arena
