Job Summary
You will drive the technical education and utilization for the BD Biosciences reagent and instrument portfolio by providing a broad range of pre- and post-sales training and support (internal and external). Instruments including hardware and software: operator training, troubleshooting, and all related after- sales technical support.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide on-site troubleshooting of BD Biosciences’ instruments and assays/tests.
- Pre and Post sales training for the BD Biosciences platforms with BD staff, distributors and end users
- Provide prompt and efficient post-installation technical support to the customer.
- Team with Account Managers on sales calls and acting as a technical consultant/expert to provide prospective customers with technical information to assist with their purchasing decision
- Perform on-site demo for customers
- Develop and maintain effective training materials for product platforms. Serve as customer contact in technical related problems.
- Work flexible hours as business needs require, including emergency trouble shooting of instruments post office hours.
- Be proficient in functionality of the instruments and understand the processes required in the troubleshooting of assays/tests
- Gather customer information about technical trends/needs to support development of selling strategies and future products.
- Prepare and presents seminars to customers, distributors, potential customers and BD employees as requested
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts of the Applications/Technical department.
- Comply with all local BD established policies, procedures, and practices through consistent application of these principles.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
- Degree holder in Life Science/Hematology/Applied Biology. Specialization and/or deep interest in Immunology preferred.
- Minimum 2-3 years of Flow Cytometry experience, preferably with both cell analyzers and cell sorters. Exposure to a wide range of both clinical and research applications is highly sought after.
- Exposure to single cell capture technologies, such as the BD Rhapsody platform, is highly sought after. (good to have)
- Experience with single cell bioinformatics analysis, R, Rstudio, is highly sought after as well. (good to have)
Expected Skills and Behaviors
- Past experience or currently delivering educational workshops on a regular basis
- Strong technical and significant laboratory and/or scientific background
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Effective communication skills to clearly articulate technical and product information to both internal and external customers
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities, make appointments, plan schedules and coordinate efforts with Account Managers as well as other Service and Support personnel
- Comfortable working in a cross functional dynamic team environment
- Start-up attitude is coveted
- May require working after office hours and on weekends, as needed by the customers to ensure continuity of service to the healthcare. Able to work flexible hours as required, including emergency troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of information systems and IT architecture and development of custom interfaces with LIS will be added advantage.
- Optional: Class 3 driving license & own a car.
