We are the manufacturers of possible: Don’t Be Afraid to Try New Things
For her first 13 years with BD, Malgorzata (Maggie) Boczar worked as an Assembler at the Glens Falls, NY, Site. In May 2022, she was promoted to Quality Control Technician -- a role that she says has helped her learn and grow further with the company.
“Whatever products or units that are coming into the plant, I perform the quality inspection and ensure the items meet our quality standards before being sent to the assembly floor,” said Maggie. “Making this transition into a new position was easy because everyone has been very welcoming and that makes me feel accepted and valued.”
One piece of advice that Maggie would offer anyone currently at BD is not to be afraid if approached with a new role or stretch assignment. Given the size and scale of our organization, there are many possibilities career-wise. “Go for it. The leaders here are very supportive in helping you try new things,” Maggie said.
At BD, we are People who Give Possibilities Purpose
Maggie and the manufacturing team at Glens Falls, which assembles products supporting the Peripheral Intervention business, take pride in knowing the scale of their impact, and that their work is serious, respected, and serving the greater good -- advancing the world of health™.
“Our purpose at BD is very evident and something that fills me with great pride….we help save lives around the world with our products and solutions. The other thing I appreciate at this site is the strong sense of collegiality here. We take care of each other, and we take care of the local community too through fundraisers and other local events,” said Maggie.
Maggie came to New York more than 20 years ago from Poland. She has a husband and two daughters – one is studying at the University of Buffalo and the other is a senior in high school. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking in the Adirondack Mountains, reading books, and watching movies.
