BD Excellence are recruiting for a BD Excellence Office Deployment Director.  In this role, the successful incumbent acts as the air traffic controller for the SVP BD Excellence and BD Excellence Office.

S/he is accountable to be an integrator that connects the strategic and cross-functional workstreams that would otherwise remain siloed.  S/he is responsible for the overall performance of all deployment processes, process governance and program management in the BD Excellence Office. 

This role provides leadership oversight to ensure the process operating model drives integrated performance while meeting customer expectations.  Collaborates with pillar and functional leaders within the BD Excellence Office and beyond to drive performance improvement through systemic process excellence. Accountable for conceptualizing and executing a roadmap to build organization capabilities around business continuity and operational excellence. Leads change management efforts for major BD Excellence Office initiatives as required.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Establishes programs and initiatives to effectively leverage the BD Excellence operating model with system functionality and optimize our deployment roadmap. 
  • Focuses specifically on major initiatives and transitional work processes coupled with re-engineering processes.  May be required to lead special projects as needed.
  • Orchestrates the resource capabilities as it relates to the BD Excellence Office organization, to prioritize and adjust to drive maximum business impact and results.
  • Leverages best practices (global, business, functional) across the BD Excellence Office organization to achieve a sustainable operating model and ensures the right forums are established for interactions and governance from the BD Excellence Office with the BD Excellence leaders in the Business Units and Functions.
  • Builds a robust network regionally for collaboration of learnings and ideas as well as to ensure the review of the requirements arriving into the BD Excellence Office.
  • Effectively facilitates the flow of new opportunities through the organization by balancing the need for the core BD Excellence tool requirements as well as innovative opportunities to increase impact and reach.
  • Drives cross process portfolio governance to prioritize work effort and maximize outcomes.
  • Manages resource to ensure all non L&D events within the BD Excellence Office are seamlessly coordinated and executed, leveraging the required team members as needed to execute the requirements.
  • Ensures the implementation of standard tools and methodologies in content creation of the BD Excellence Office, providing coaching and final stage validation before leader sign-off on new content for tools.
  • Partners with the Associate Director BD Excellence Communications to populate or validate metrics and results for leadership updates and creates leadership level content for key events or executive presentations.
  • Accountable for owning the BD Excellence Office (BDEO) Kaizen Funnel with the willingness and ability to deliver training, optimizations and support events in region when required.

Required knowledge and experience:

  • Eight (8)+ years of operations or process experience with a proven track record of driving processes to achieve results.
  • Six (6)+ years proven experience in a company with continuous improvement culture and the core tools of visual management, problem solving, and kaizen are embedded in all aspects of the business.  
  • Demonstrated success in driving business impact through CI and Kaizen initiatives, particularly in commercial organizations and in a fast-changing environment. Demonstrated BD Leadership Standard behaviors and strong business knowledge.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate, consult, and/or lead teams and drive for results in a matrixed environment.
  • Ability to coach peers and upwards to ensure coordinated delivery of initiatives and to increase individual performance.
  • Ability to collaborate and navigate through all levels of the regional organization to influence outcomes.
  • Proven track record in leading change and achieving results. Systems thinking approach for effective problem solving required.
  • Ability to improve performance within the organization to attain efficiency while delivering excellent output against definitive metrics.
  • Strong customer focus – ability to understand customer and stakeholder needs (internal and external) and transform them into solutions that create value for customers and stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinking – effective at integrating and balancing short and long-term opportunities and challenges to achieve positive business outcomes.
  • Action oriented individual who is highly proactive at solving problems and obtaining results.
  • Excellent facilitation & communication skills both in person and virtually.  Ability to hold attention, create excitement, and hold all team members responsible for outcomes. 
  • The capacity to plan, organize, & complete projects on time. Excellent project management skills and ability to juggle multiple responsibilities and deadlines.
  • True love of continuous improvement, measuring results, and problem solving. 
  • Willingness to travel up to 60% if based outside of New Jersey
