About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated and strategic Software Product Owner to join our Peripheral Intervention team, driving the development of cutting-edge medical device software in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape life-changing healthcare solutions, with a focus on embedded systems and application software. Operating within a regulated and dynamic setting, you will collaborate closely with engineering, quality, regulatory, and customer-facing teams to deliver innovative, compliant, and high-impact software products that meet the highest standards of safety and performance.
As an individual contributor, you will lead by influence—bringing strong leadership, relationship-building, and execution skills to the forefront. You will serve as the Agile Product Owner, defining product vision, prioritizing backlogs, and driving delivery across software modules and subsystems. Your intellectual curiosity and passion for integrating advanced software technologies into regulated environments will be key to success. This role demands a proactive attitude, critical thinking, and the ability to foster alignment across diverse technical and business stakeholders throughout the full product lifecycle.
Main responsibilities will include:
Serve as the Agile Product Owner for the Software Team, defining and driving product vision and execution.
Plan and prioritize the product backlog to align with strategic objectives.
Develop clear, detailed software requirements and specifications.
Evaluate business value, build cases, and prioritize epics, stories, and themes.
Lead product release planning and set delivery expectations for new features.
Identify and resolve roadblocks to ensure successful sprints and releases.
Oversee integration of software modules across subsystems, ensuring architectural and quality consistency.
Define and manage service-level agreements and delivery milestones.
Provide full lifecycle support, including customer engagement and post-release follow-up.
Collaborate with development teams and stakeholders to deliver value in every increment.
About you
Proven experience as a Product Owner in Agile environments with strong product lifecycle and stakeholder management skills.
6+ years in software development and testing (C++ and/or C#), operating systems, and hardware/software integrated products.
5+ years across all phases of software development: concept, requirements, development, testing, traceability, release, and maintenance.
5+ years working within Agile methodologies.
3+ years as a software product owner or in a technical program/project management role.
Expertise in writing software requirements and user stories, prioritising based on business and customer needs.
Experience with design controls in regulated environments.
Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple teams.
Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps or Jira and software branching strategies.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and influencing skills.
Strong project and time management capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Certified Product Owner (e.g., CSPO, PSPO).
Proficiency with Agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps.
Familiarity with regulatory standards (e.g., ISO 13485, IEC 62304).
Preferred Skills & Experience
Experience with 21 CFR 820, IEC 62304, and ISO 13485 standards.
Background in medical device environments aligned with these standards.
Understanding of CI/CD tools and build systems.
