The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for assisting with project management, engineering support and direction of manufacturing activities to support plant projects, optimize plant equipment and processes, Support all sustaining engineering projects.


Responsibilities:

Support sustaining engineering team design activities including:

  • Concept development and PPS input
  • Project plans/schedules
  • Design reviews and design for manufacturability
  • Working with facility technicians on all production equipment and processes to enhance plant efficiency.

Plan, coordinate and manage all manufacturing activities to provide business continuity and continuous improvement initiatives:

  • Concept and development of all methods and processes
  •  Coordination of new tooling and equipment
  •  Coordination and support of all new vendor tooling and molds
  •  Development and release of all product and process documentation
  •  Planning, ordering and management of component inventory.
  •  Qualification and validation of all operations and processes including IQ, OQ, PQ
  • New Product cost estimates as related to the manufacturing process (time studies)
  • Evaluation and recommendation of new/alternate raw materials
  • Preparation of capital equipment requisitions (AFE)
  • Properly document in detail all machine setup and adjustment/troubleshooting methods to comply with the plants QMS.

Support activities to document processes for plant related manufacturing including:

  • Documentation, methods, and labor standards review.
  • Component inventory transition plan
  • Equipment Moves and Installation
  • IQ, OQ, and PQ protocol development and execution
  • Work with operators and inspectors to oversee execution of engineering related builds.
  • Validation and training support.
  • Work with technicians to modify and improve PM programs on all plant machinery.

Education and/ or Experience Required:

  • BS degree in Engineering required (mechanical, chemical, biomedical, or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated proficiency with tooling and design, machinery, assembly fixtures, equipment and tooling procurement and design.
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to conceptualize ideas, motivate and focus individuals and teams and drive projects through completion on time and on budget.
  • Understanding and ability to execute DOEs, process validations and process characterizations. 
  • Understanding of GMPs and medical device regulations as they apply to manufacturing
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 10%

Desirable Qualifications:

  • 3+ years' experience in precision manufacturing environment (textile experience a plus)
  • manufacturing/machine-based environment preferred

$80,600.00 - $133,000.00
