Sandeep Banerjee’s resume reads like a “who’s who” when it comes to companies serving the MedTech industry. It’s this extensive set of experiences he’s gained over the last 20 years in sales that makes him such an asset to BD.

Today, as a Regional Sales Manager -- North and East, located in Delhi, India, he supports a team of 10 associates covering the North and East regions of the country for the Integrated Diagnostic Solutions (IDS) business. He feels very passionate about his role and the impact his team makes on the healthcare system and healthcare professionals.

“In connecting with our customers and selling BD solutions to them, we are such an active part of the healthcare system overall, and in the end, supporting the patients, which is so critical,” said Sandeep.

Open, Transparent and Supportive Culture

Sandeep joined BD in 2019 leading IDS sales for the East region and was then given responsibility for the West region in 2021. The lure of the BD culture is what attracted him to join the company.

“Out of all of the companies I worked for in the past, I found BD to be the most open, transparent and supportive,” said Sandeep. “There is an opportunity for everyone to grow here and the quality and performance of the talent is impressive.”

Since joining BD, Sandeep has taken an interest in building his own skills and capabilities further by becoming more organized, disciplined, and process-oriented, as well as doing a lot more reading and learning about human behavior, which will all help support him as a sales leader.

“We interact with so many different people daily that it’s critical to understand how best to connect and collaborate among our team and our customers, so I am spending time learning more about human behavior,” said Sandeep.

Do the Right Thing Strikes a Chord

One of the BD values that Sandeep says aligns with his own values is: Do the Right Thing. “That statement has literally changed my life because it simplifies things so much. I rely on it often both personally and professionally. I try to cascade this same learning to my children so that it helps them navigate things more easily. If you always focus on doing the right thing, you cannot go wrong.”

Sandeep emphasizes that because of his staunch alignment to “doing the right thing,” he has gained even more acceptance and respect from others. “This intangible sort of recognition of respect is one of the best rewards I’ve gained while working at BD.”

Sandeep’s wife is a high school physics teacher, and his own educational background is in management, which might be a surprise to some given he has spent nearly two decades in the healthcare and MedTech industries. In his personal time, Sandeep is active in sports – cricket and soccer to be precise. He not only loves to watch the sports on TV, but also plays these sports as well.
