Job Description Summary
As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you oversee all aspects of supplier quality management. Your responsibilities include evaluating, classifying, and approving new suppliers, and periodically re-evaluating and re-classifying existing ones, as well as maintaining the Approved Supplier List (ASL). You monitor supplier performance, support or lead Non-conformance Material Reports (NCMRs) and Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs) and collaborate closely with suppliers and internal departments on Supplier Change Notifications (SCNs). Additionally, you lead Production Part Approval Processes (PPAPs), for both sustaining and new development projects.We are flexible! This position can be either full time or part time based on need and individual agreement.

We are looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join our quality department and support the Senior Quality Engineering Team with supplier quality-related tasks.
Straub Medical AG, a part of BD, develops, manufactures, and markets high-tech medical devices for treating perfusion disorders. Medical specialists worldwide use our rotational catheters (RotarexTM S and AspirexTM S) to quickly restore the patency of occluded blood vessels through minimally invasive procedures, thus avoiding larger surgical interventions. Our technology helps reduce patient risk and healthcare costs.

Main tasks:
- Managing the Approved Supplier List (ASL)
- Fielding Non-conformance Material Reports (NCMRs) and Supplier Corrective
Action Requests (SCARs) for Supplier-related Issues
- Fielding Supplier Change Notifications (SNCs) and driving projects to implement associated changes
- Supporting / Driving Supplier Component Qualification
- Monitoring Supplier Performance
- Managing and Reporting on Supplier Quality Metrics
- Conducting Supplier Audits
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a science field
- 3-5 years’ experience in a regulated industry, preferably medical device
- Certified Quality Engineering certificate or equivalent preferred
- Lead ISO13485:2016+Att.11, ISO 9001:2016 Auditing Certificates or current Certificate for European Organization for Quality (EOQ) are a strong plus
Knowledge and Skills:
- Have very good written and oral communication skills
- Be able to work independently in a fast and efficient manner
- Be able to work in a team environment
- Be mindful and aware of regulations governing the medical device industry with regards to purchasing and supplier controls and risk management
- Be able to understand and manage complex supplier / component related quality issues
- Be able to troubleshoot with supplier related issues and conduct thorough root cause investigations
- Advanced oral and written German and English
