PositionSummary:
This positionleadsthe Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) team at our large and complex manufacturing site. The ideal candidate willbe responsible forthe overall EHS program at the site, including creating and implementing strategic safety and EHS initiatives to foster and enhance our EHS culture. This role requires a strong technical EHS skillset to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. It includes participation on the Plant Leadership Team and managing a team of direct reports as well as the ability to lead and influence without direct authority. Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies,proceduresand best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations,policiesand procedures. Regular, punctual attendance is an essential job function. Ability to read and write and converse in English. Willing and able to uphold BD Values.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Leadership: lead and manage a team of EHS professionals, providing guidance, support and development opportunities.
Strategic Initiatives:Develop and implement strategic EHS initiatives , policies, programs and metrics to continuously improve the site's EHS culture and performance.
Technical Expertise:Strong background in critical safety programs, such as LOTO, Machine Guarding, Powered Industrial Trucks, Electrical Safety and Fall Protection in order to coordinate day-to-day implemntation of programs
Compliance:Ensure compliance with all relevant EHS regulations, laws, standards, permits/licenses and company policies.
Training and Development:Design and deliver training programs to enhance the technical skills and knowledge of the EHS team.
Incident Management:Facilitate incident investigations with strong root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Continuous Improvement:Drive continuous improvement in EHS processes and practices through data analysis, audits, and feedback.
Stakeholder Engagement:Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS considerations into operational decisions and projects.

Education:
Bachelor’sdegreerequiredin Environmental Health & Safety,Engineeringor related field.
Master’sdegree preferred
Functional Safety Certifications, Certified Safety Specialist, Certified Industrial Hygienist, Six Sigma Green, or Black Beltpreferred
Experience:
Fiveyears of relevant experienceinEHSmanagement in a large manufacturing environment
Strong technical knowledge of LOTO, Machine Guarding, incident investigation, and root cause analysis.
Experience in Medical Device, Chemical, or manufacturing is preferred.
Experience with OSHA PSM is preferred.
Experience managing a team in a cross-functional environment is preferred.
Knowledge and experience in ISO14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001 compliance preferred. Auditor certifications a plus
