The Director of Finance, Urology position is a leadership role within the BD UCC Business Unit and reports directly to the VP of Finance for the UCC business. This leader will serve as a finance business partner to two Platform Vice Presidents / General Managers and will be responsible for the management of all finance activities of the US $1.4B US Urology business.  The core responsibilities will include providing sound financial guidance to the leadership team; providing relevant and timely financial information for effective decision making; leading financial planning and reporting processes; delivering value-added analysis; supporting new product development; being a core member of the Platform Leadership Team. The individual should have a demonstrated track record of contributions leading to improved financial performance, heightened productivity and strategic decision making. The Director also leads and develops a team of finance professionals while fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and business partnership.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning, Forecasting & Reporting

  • Lead the end-to-end financial planning cycle, including Annual Strategic Review (ASR), annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, monthly projections, and long-range planning.
  • Support the preparation of monthly Global Operating Committee (GOC) and Operating Committee (OC) presentations and executive reporting packages.
  • Analyze operating results, identify key business drivers, and communicate performance trends, risks, and opportunities to business and finance leadership.
  • Drive variance analysis against budget, forecast, prior year, and strategic commitments.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of financial deliverables across global stakeholders.

Business Partnership & Strategic Support

  • Serve as the primary finance partner to Platform Leadership Teams, providing financial guidance and strategic decision support.
  • Deliver actionable insights and recommendations that drive business growth, profitability, and operational excellence.
  • Support strategic initiatives through financial modeling, scenario analysis, ROI evaluations, and business case development.
  • Collaborate with Strategy, Marketing, R&D, Operations, and Regional teams to support execution of business objectives.
  • Develop financial metrics and dashboards that improve visibility into business performance and strategic progress.

Mergers, Acquisitions & Business Development

  • Support new business development activities, including acquisitions, divestitures, licensing opportunities, and product development initiatives.
  • Lead financial aspects of transaction activities, including valuation modeling, due diligence, business case development, and executive presentations.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to evaluate inorganic growth opportunities and assess strategic fit.
  • Support acquisition integration planning and financial tracking of synergy realization.
  • Maintain and continuously improve M&A financial processes, reporting tools, and playbooks.

Leadership & Talent Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of FP&A professionals, including Senior Financial Analysts and Finance Managers.
  • Provide ongoing performance feedback, mentoring, and development opportunities to strengthen organizational capability.
  • Foster an engaged, collaborative, and high-performing team environment.
  • Build organizational knowledge and develop future finance leaders through succession planning and talent development.
  • Encourage continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability within the finance organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required.
  • MBA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional designation preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, Finance Business Partnering, Business Analytics, Accounting, Audit, or related finance functions.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting senior business leaders in a complex, global matrix organization.
  • Strong understanding of financial planning, budgeting, performance management, and strategic analysis.
  • Experience developing financial models, investment analyses, and business cases using valuation methodologies such as NPV, IRR, payback, ROIC, and scenario analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, SOX, internal controls, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial systems such as SAP, BPC, HFM, Business Intelligence tools, or equivalent platforms.
  • Proven ability to influence decision-making through data-driven analyses and executive-level presentations.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to lead teams, influence without authority, and successfully manage multiple priorities
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, process optimization, and organizational development.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as business needs require (approximately 10-20%).

This role serves as a key finance leader within the Worldwide UCC organization, translating financial insights into strategic actions that support profitable growth, operational excellence, and achievement of long-term business objectives.
