Position Summary:

The BD Excellence Fundamentals Senior Manager will be responsible forsupporting the deployment of the BDE Fundamental tools through leading training events and facilitating Kaizens across BD’s Business Units, Regions, and Corporate Functions.They will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for assigned tools and partner with key collaborator's involvement in the development of BDExcellence including BD ExcellenceTool Owners, BU leaders, and Functional process leaders.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the BDE Fundamentals owner to strategically deploy the developed Fundamentals tools and process throughout the greater BDX organization

  • Partner with BD Excellence leaders across BUs, regions, and functions to drive adoption of BD Excellence tools and to actively solve critical issues in support of business objectives/KDGs

  • Become a Certified Practitioner in BD Excellence Fundamental tools: Problem Solving Process (PSP), Visual/Daily Management (VM/DM), Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Transactional Process Improvement (TPI), and Standard Work (SW)

  • Be a change champion in the development and deployment of BD Excellence approach and tools

  • Schedule, lead, and sustain BD Excellence Fundamentals tool events and Kaizens

  • Coach/mentor cross functional teams in the execution/sustainment of Kaizens & workshops

  • Serve as a thought partner to the BD Excellence team, supporting the adoption and deployment of BD Excellence tools and mentality across departments and regions

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

  • 3+ years proven experience in a company with continuous improvement culture and the core tools of problem solving, visual management, and kaizen

  • 2+ years or equivalent experience in a role leading kaizen and/or training events structured around lean/continuous improvement tools

  • 2+ years or equivalent experience facilitating training and/or training events across multiple sites/businessesExcellent facilitation & communication skills both in person and virtually.  

  • Extensive experience in metric focused roles where success is operationalized and continuous improvement is a way of life

  • Proven experience coaching others and driving change.

  • Very strong organizational, project planning, scheduling and risk management skills and demonstrated experience using project management tools and software. Proficient in the use of all MS Office tools (Email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, etc.) 

  • Significant career experience in an organization where a business system is part of the culture and the core tools of visual management, problem solving, kaizen are embedded in all aspects of the business.  

  • True love of continuous improvement, measuring results, and problem solving.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree preferably in Business, Engineering, or Supply Chain

  • International training and facilitation experience.

  • Experience working in a highly matrixed organization and in overcoming ambiguity in large-scale organizational change efforts.

  • Bilingual (Spanish, French, German or other languages)
