We are seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to join our team as Vice President of Procurement Excellence. This role will report directly to the Chief Procurement Officer and will play a pivotal role in shaping and driving the strategic vision for our Procurement function.
The successful candidate will provide leadership across key areas of the Procurement Function including digitalization, risk management and responsible sourcing/ESG, business process optimization, data analytics, reporting & performance management, program management and training.
The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in procurement and supply chain across various industries, with a strong emphasis on driving functional excellence, transformation, and innovation in the procurement/ supply chain domain and will be instrumental in propelling the our organization towards best-in-class practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy and Vision: Play a critical role in developing and executing the Procurement strategy, and Ensuring alignment with all the global business units and stakeholders across all functions.
Digital Strategy (Source to Pay): Accountable for development and execution of best-in-class technologies to drive efficiency & productivity across the source-to-pay value stream. and enable step level improvement in performance.
Risk Management and Responsible Sourcing (ESG): Accountable to define and govern strategy to identify, assess, and mitigate Procurement and supply chain risks, ensuring the resilience and continuity of the supply chain. Champion the integration of ESG principles into the procurement process, promoting sustainable and responsible sourcing practices and ensuring compliance.
Business Processes: Establish and optimize procurement processes, systems and policies, to drive efficiency. Define GBS strategy and develop business requirements to effectively leverage the Global Business Solutions (GBS) organization, and drive governance to ensure delivery of SLA and performance metrics.
Data Analytics: Lead the development and implementation of advanced data analytics capabilities to drive informed business decision-making and enhance procurement performance, enable better category management and pro-active supply chain risk mitigations.
Reporting & Performance Management: Own the reporting & performance management of the Procurement function. Would also play an active role in developing the Annual Strategic Plan (ASR) for the function and drive accountability across the organization to deliver on ASR commitments.
Training and Development: Accountable for developing and executing a comprehensive cutting edge learning and development program which include role based competency assessment & training, detailed program curriculum, engaging the right 3rdparty players, robust digital platform and an effective governance structure.
Digital Strategy:Accountable for development and implementation of BD’s global source-to-pay digital strategy in alignment with GBS
Risk and Responsible Sourcing Strategy: Leads and facilitates enterprise level risk and responsible sourcing strategy in collaboration with category management and businesses
Data Analytics Strategy: Leads the development and implementation of the BD’s analytics strategy including maintenance of Procurement analytics, dashboards, and reporting tools and insights to support strategic decision-making in procurement.
Business Process: Accountable for establishing and documenting global standards for Procurement policy and process. Primary interface into Global Business Solution and supports functional audits as required.
Sphere of influence:
Global Procurement Function, Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) Leadership Team, Global Business Services (GBS), Business Leadership, and Executive Leadership Team as required (audit committee and risk) Business and functional processes (global) across Source to Pay Alignment with Regional Leadership.

Areas:
Strategy: Accountable to delivery strategies associated with Digital, Risk, Resilience, Responsible Sourcing, Talent Management, Category and Business Analytics.
Financial: Accountable for strategies which increase the functions ROI - efficiency (cost of function) and overall effectiveness (return of spend). Provide strategic insights and analytics which accelerate functional and business value.
Compliance: Accountable to ensure all ESG and Responsible sourcing commitments are met within timelines committed to investors and regulatory bodies.
Talent: Accountable for the functional training and development strategy
Requirements:
Demonstrated understanding of the Source to Pay process including category management, contract management and P2P best practices, policies, and tools
Prior experience developing and implementing Digital Procurement Strategies (Source to Pay)
Strong analytical and financial acumen with ability to integrate into Business and Functional process.
Proven experience driving large-scale change management across a global matrix organization.
Demonstrated knowledge of end-to-end supply chain risk and resiliency strategies and emerging ESG regulations
Prior experience implementing or working with Global Business Service Organizations and/or shared services.
Proven knowledge and experience with Supplier Management.
Strong presentation skills, experience developing and presenting to c-suite level
Willingness to take a hands-on approach to solve problems with a bias for action
Previous experience with platforms like SAP, JD Edwards, Coupa, iValua, GEP and knowledge of P2P best practices.
Lean / Six Sigma trained or experience in Lean Methodologies
Ability to work across cultures and regions with strong interpersonal skills
Knowledge of Procurement Policy and Processes
Education/DegreeBachelor’s degree in a related field; MBA or equivalent is preferred
Minimum 15 years of work experience across Procurement and Supply Chain
