For this Global Senior Product Manager, we are seeking a strategic product marketing leader to drive the success of our life sciences portfolio. Based in our San Diego, CA offices, this role will be responsible for shaping the customer experience, defining global product strategies, and ensuring financial performance. You will develop and implement marketing roadmaps, manage lifecycle strategies, and collaborate cross-functionally to bring innovative solutions to market.
This role requires a solid understanding of market dynamics, customer needs, and scientific trends, with the ability to translate complex technical capabilities into compelling value propositions. You will work closely with key opinion leaders (KOLs), regional marketing teams, and internal partners to optimize pricing strategies, launch new offerings, and ensure business growth.

Key Responsibilities
- Own the total customer experience, driving the strategic and financial performance of the product portfolio.
- Lead the annual planning process, defining global strategies for product development and operations while influencing cross-functional resources to meet business goals.
- Develop and carry out marketing strategies, product roadmaps, and lifecycle management plans for assigned offerings.
- Build a robust pipeline of new products by shaping annual and long-term roadmaps, business cases, and marketing plans in collaboration with the Core Team.
- Oversee global portfolio positioning, pricing, and brand strategy to enhance market impact.
- Partner with regional marketing teams to align strategies and meet financial targets.
- Communicate product value propositions effectively to the sales team, creating tools that enhance the selling process.
- Understand customer buying criteria, market segmentation, and competition to craft winning strategies.
- Optimize pricing strategies in collaboration with regional teams.
- Seek opportunities to enhance BD’s Research Solutions portfolio for solution-based offerings.
- Lead market development and customer education initiatives with internal and external scientific leaders.
- Generate innovative ideas for new products, technologies, and go-to-market strategies, ensuring customer perspectives shape product development.
- Ensure all marketing work-stream deliverables align with BD’s Global Product Development Process.
Education & Experience (required)
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences.
- 5–7 years in product marketing or product management in biotechnology or life sciences.
- Expertise in brand management, product development, market segmentation, competitive analysis, forecasting, and pricing strategy.
- Experience managing diverse product portfolios and optimizing pricing.
- Strong background in cross-functional collaboration and matrix organizations.
- Demonstrated expertise in delivering impactful presentations to senior leadership, effectively communicating key insights and strategic recommendations.
- Ability to travel between 20% or as needed.
Preferred Education & Experience
- MBA, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Immunology, Cell Biology, or equivalent preferred.
- Knowledge of flow cytometry and antibody products preferred.
- Prior experience with eCommerce and/or Salesforce.com preferred.

- Exceptional communication, organization, prioritization, and problem-solving abilities.
- Results-driven, capable of managing multiple competing projects.
- Proficient in developing comprehensive business cases with detailed financial analysis.
