Job Description Summary

The primary focus of this position is to assist R&D Engineering in performing sustaining activities for the Port or Dialysis CE Medical Device Regulation (MDR) remediations. The candidate will assist in creating needed project documentation and organizing product sustaining engineering activities. Responsibilities will include documenting evidence of compliance with MDR regulation, analyzing data to correlate important process variables to output, documenting test results, and conducting experiments to understand process inputs/outputs. Additional responsibilities may include other activities from R&D, Quality, Operations, and Regulatory.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete all aspects of project management, including collecting, analyzing, documenting, and communicating project status through written reports, email, chats, and oral communication.

  • Create and/or manage a project information database containing useful project information.

  • Draft protocols, reports, test methods, design input requirements, and other product development tasks.

  • Perform product testing as needed.

  • Conduct design and development activities and create inputs and outputs related to device function.

  • Assist with research and analysis as needed; create reports.

  • Demonstrate self-discipline and the ability to work with minimal supervision; take initiative.

  • Maintain a high level of organization and attention to detail.

  • Exhibit excellent communication skills and the ability to interface directly with teammates and management.

  • Be a respectful and dependable candidate who takes pride in their work and professional reputation.

  • Show proven success working individually and in a team.

  • Learn quickly.

  • Effectively manage time and multi-task; work well under pressure and unexpected deadlines.

  • Listen and comprehend information received; take direction.

  • Demonstrate computer aptitude and the ability to learn recent technologies. Proficient in Microsoft Office 2016 Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

  • Have working knowledge of Excel formulas and conditional formatting.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint is a plus.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working on a project and interacting with a project team.

  • Education: Currently pursuing a technical degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.

  • Experience: Currently in the Junior or Senior year of the Engineering program.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to analyze data, interpret results, and author technical reports.

  • Advanced skill in project management; experience with project management software.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrate hands-on technical aptitude.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to manipulate tools, controls, and office equipment. Work may involve continuous computer use with repetitive motion to wrists, hands, and fingers. The employee is frequently required to see, talk, touch, and hear. The employee is occasionally required to bend, lift, reach, or stoop. Inability to meet one or more of these physical demands will not automatically disqualify a candidate or employee from the position. Upon request, the company may make reasonable accommodations.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be in an open cubicle environment. The employee must be able to work in a collaborative, challenging environment.
