Job Description

Essential / Key Job Responsibilities (including supervisory and/or fiscal):

Perform calibration and preventive maintenance on manufacturing, inspection, test, measurement, and facility equipment in accordance with approved procedures and schedules.

  • Calibrate electrical, dimensional, optical, mechanical, and chemical equipment to ensure compliance with established specifications.

  • Collect, analyze, and document calibration and maintenance data.

  • Support calibration activities performed by third-party service providers and verify associated documentation.

  • Identify and report out-of-tolerance conditions, equipment deficiencies, and malfunctions. Initiate or support maintenance activities, perform routine adjustments, and complete required calibration and verification following maintenance or repairs.

  • Maintain calibration standards, tools, and records to ensure measurement accuracy and traceability.

  • Prepare and maintain calibration records, reports, certificates, labels, and related documentation within the applicable calibration management system (e.g., Blue Mountain RAM, IndySoft, or equivalent systems).

  • Use appropriate inspection and measurement tools to perform calibration and verification activities.

  • Assist with solving equipment issues and support new equipment qualification, calibration, verification, documentation, and maintenance activities.

  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Facilities, Quality, and external service providers to support calibration activities, equipment reliability, and measurement traceability.

  • Support internal, customer, supplier, and regulatory audits by providing calibration records and objective evidence of compliance.

  • Complete assigned documentation, training, and work activities within established requirements and timelines.

  • Maintain work areas, tools, and equipment in a clean, organized, and safe condition.

  • Follow applicable safety policies, facility procedures, Quality System requirements, and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).

  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and follow procedures.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and document technical information.
  • Ability to identify and report equipment-related issues.
  • Ability to work in areas containing radioactive materials.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to learn new equipment, technologies, and procedures.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules and overtime, as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Quality, manufacturing, or another regulated environment.
  • Experience with calibration, testing, inspection, maintenance, or measurement activities.
  • Experience using calibration management systems (e.g., Blue Mountain RAM, IndySoft, or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with cGMP, calibration, preventive maintenance, and documentation requirements.
  • Technical certificate, vocational training, or coursework in Electronics, Instrumentation, Metrology, Industrial Maintenance, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
  • ASQ Certified Calibration Technician (CCT), NCSLI Certified Calibration Technician (CCT), or equivalent certification preferred

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year of calibration, testing, inspection, maintenance, or measurement equipment experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in mathematics and measurement concepts.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic systems.
  • Working knowledge of common hand tools, measurement tools, and calibration equipment.
  • Ability to read and follow technical procedures, specifications, and work instructions

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use sight, and use hands to manipulate, handle or feel objects, tools, controls, and office equipment. Must have the ability to sit, stand, reach above head, squat, stoop, kneel, push, pull, and may occasionally carry, push, or lift a minimum of 35 lbs. The employee frequently is required to verbally communicate with other associates.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be in an open cubicle, warehouse or manufacturing lab environment.  Candidate must be able to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
