Job Description Summary
The Lead Tech Mechanical Engineer provides technical support with the design and troubleshooting of automated manufacturing equipment and packaging equipment to achieve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost metrics.Applies technical knowledge with regards to mechanical design, PLCs, Vision Systems, Robots, Servos, etc. to resolve problems in the manufacturing process.
Utilize practical technical knowledge to resolve machine and process issues with regards to mechanical, electrical, or programming of high-speed automated equipment. Carry out corrective and preventive maintenance tasks through hands-on involvement. Develop initiatives to improve efficiency on all machines under the area of responsibility.

Lead Tech Mechanical Engineer
Responsibilities:
Hands-on development improvements to high-speed automated equipment for the manufacturing of medical devices.
Performs troubleshooting, and maintenance of high-speed automated equipment.
Use technical knowledge and experience in programming and troubleshooting to resolve issues and to improve the performance of the automated machines based on the following technologies:
Robots: FANUC, ABB, Epson and Stäubli (strong experience with pick and place applications)
Strong knowledge in Rockwell Automation Software: Studio 5000 (RSLogix 5000), Factory Talk Machine Edition/Site Edition, etc.
Strong knowledge in Siemens Automation Software: Step 7, Tia Portal, Winn CC etc.
Strong knowledge in Servo Motion Controls System as Kinetix Servo drives, Sinamics or similar
Advanced process control as Fuzzy Logix, Profibus, ProfiNet networks, PID Function and Functional Charts Language, Ethernet-IP / TCP-IP Networks.
Strong knowledge in development and programming of Vision Systems such as Cognex (Insight 5000, 2000, micro, Keyence CVX, IV, Banner).
Extensive experience in ultrasonic welding,
InkJet printers (Domino, Lynx, Markem Image, Keyence).
Experience in thermos transfer printers, flexographic printers and digital printers.
Product and parts identification including RFID and Barcoding (software, printers, and readers).
Strong knowledge in pneumatics and electropneumatic, mechanical knowledge, electronics.
Follow all safety procedures and identify/communicate the necessary adjustments to address potential safety concerns, including the proper use of PPE (Personal Protection Equipment).
Work with BD production, engineering, quality, and maintenance teams to ensure that goals are met.
Maintain primary communication of performance goals and requirements identified by management.
Support CAPA activities as required (Corrective and Preventive Actions) to address systemic issues in the manufacturing and quality systems.
Ability to work on flexible schedule and cover 3rd and 5th shifts as needed
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree is required (degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electronic Engineering or any related field is desired).
At least 3-5 years of manufacturing experience (preferably in a highly automated environment).
