Role Purpose
BD Greater Asia is transforming events from isolated activities into a scalable, data‑driven engine for education, influence, and commercial impact.
The Manager, Event Excellence & Medical Education owns the design, execution, and scaling of BD’s Event Excellence and Medical Education operating model across Greater Asia. The role shifts events from administrative execution to high‑impact, always‑on healthcare education that KOLs are proud to participate in and champion.
This role is well suited for a senior professional from the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions) industry or for someone who has led high‑impact events in a regulated environment (e.g. healthcare, medtech, pharma, finance, or other highly governed industries).
Key Responsibilities
1. Event Excellence & Medical Education Ownership
- Own and scale the regional Event Excellence & Medical Education operating model for Greater Asia.
- Transition events from one‑off execution to always‑on education platforms, including academies, flagship programs, and repeatable webinar series.
- Ensure events are selected, designed, and resourced based on impact, reach, and strategic value, not tradition.
2. KOL & Faculty Experience Leadership
- Own the end‑to‑end KOL and faculty experience across the full event lifecycle (before, during, after).
- Partner with Medical, Compliance, and Ethics teams to manage:
- Faculty selection and governance
- FMV, contracts, honoraria, and disclosures
- Build structured, repeatable faculty models that enable long‑term partnerships and advocacy.
- Ensure all KOL engagements are ethical, compliant, professional, and measurable.
3. Event Operations & Shared Services Management
- Lead and develop a regional event operations and administrative support team (currently a team of 3 and expanding).
- Define clear roles, SLAs, SOPs, and service standards for event delivery.
- Remove operational and administrative burden from local marketing teams, enabling stronger focus on strategy and customer engagement.
- Drive continuous improvement in speed, quality, and efficiency.
4. Process, Platform & Operating Model Ownership
- Own and standardize pre‑event, during‑event, and post‑event workflows across markets.
- Partner with Marketing Operations, Data, ComEx teams to ensure:
- Clean and compliant data capture at events
- Seamless integration with marketing automation and CRM systems
- Consistent attribution, reporting, and visibility of outcomes
- Drive automation, reuse, and disciplined ways of working at scale.
5. Impact Measurement & Optimization
- Ensure every event delivers learning, follow‑through, and business visibility.
- Own post‑event processes including:
- Lead handover and follow‑up
- Lead scoring and nurturing
- Content reuse and amplification
- Track and improve KPIs such as:
- Event cycle time
- Cost per event and per lead
- Lead follow‑up velocity
- Faculty and attendee satisfaction
- Contribution to commercial outcomes
6. Change Leadership & Stakeholder Partnership
- Act as a regional partner to Business Units, country teams, Medical, Compliance, and Commercial Excellence.
- Lead change management for new processes, tools, and governance.
- Educate teams on best practices, standards, and success metrics to elevate event maturity across the region.
What Success Looks Like
- Events operate as a scalable, repeatable system, not ad‑hoc executions
- KOLs and faculty are proud, recurring partners of BD
- Faster delivery, lower cost, and strong compliance discipline
- Clear visibility from education activities to engagement and commercial impact
- Local teams are freed from administrative complexity
Candidate Profile
Required Experience
- 5 –8 years’ experience in MICE, professional events, congress management, or large‑scale B2B / healthcare education
- Proven experience managing complex, multi‑market, high‑stake events
- Strong track record working with senior speakers, experts, or KOL‑level stakeholders
- Experience leading teams or shared‑service / operational support models
- Strong process design, stakeholder management, and operating‑model mindset
Preferred / Advantageous
- Experience in healthcare, medtech, pharma, or other regulated industries
- Exposure to CRM, marketing automation, analytics, or event technology platforms
Critical Competencies

- Comfortable operating in highly governed environments
