ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Administrative Material Handler will perform and verify material transactions, review with the Supervisor daily to resolve any issues associated with materials. Assist Material Handlers with items two thru twenty-three.

  • Requisition Order materials thru SAP and Apriso materials in advance and store them neatly in the areas provided within the production/Kanban area. Ensure all materials are received correctly and damage free Issue material to work orders.  Correct any discrepancies on the work orders.  Perform SAP & Apriso Cycle counts, Perform all month end cycle counts. Investigate and resolve any issues with the cycle count and month end Retrieve new work orders and make copies from the DHR Coordinators daily and post for distribution to the lines Work with the SAP/Apriso System Analyst and Senior Supply Chain Planner Investigate and correct any discrepancies with the GOTO report and Reconciliation report. Perform final confirmations and reconcile and have all work orders ready to TECO within a 24-hour period. Verify production quantities with Sterilization and Shipping. Complete Component spreadsheet by work order and send to supervisor for review Notify Supervisor to TECO work order

  • Assist Production Material Handlers with necessary materials to maintain production as directed by supervisor.

  • Operate hand truck or electric forklift as required to provide materials to production area. 

  • Assist Production Material Handlers when needed to transfer materials to production lines, open cartons, crates and bags as necessary to make material readily available to operators.

  • Breakdown empty containers, stack totes on pallets, and ensure plastic bins are free of components and placed in hallway.

  • Remove empty containers to trash area or designated return area.  Place trash in trash compactor and cardboard in the cardboard compactor.  Maintain cleanliness of work area in the absence of a Production Material Handler Requisition materials from warehouse as required, performing SAP transactions.

  • Check all materials from warehouse for correct item, count and condition prior to acceptance.  Store incoming materials as soon as possible after receiving them.

  • Fill out complete confirmation at end of shift using SAP system confirmations for finished goods.  Move finished goods pallets into hallway wrapped in clear wrap. Wrap “HOLD Finish Goods” in red and “Validation Finish Goods” in black. Warehouse picks up finish goods from hallway and carries to Sterilization or Shipping “hold” area pending QA approval.

  • Perform label control, making sure correct log numbers are stamped on labels.  Order labels and cannula from Label Control Room thru the SAP system.

  • Issue all components, packaging, and labels to work orders through SAP and Apriso and have all work orders reconciled in a 24-hour period. Submit to Supervisor for review and TECO.

  • Return unused packaging or other materials not required for production to the warehouse.

  • Return unused unit labels, shelf pack labels, and casepack labels to label storage room.

  • Complete transactions, as stated above, using SAP & Apriso.

  • Perform SAP and Apriso Cycle Counts monthly or as required by the Supervisor.

  • Issue and correct all discrepancies pertaining to work orders.

  • Understand and communicate with the Production lines, Production Material Handlers, Planner & Supervisors regarding schedules for each production line.

  • Resolve GOTO locations over three days old and resolve any material issues noted on the reconciliation report.

  • Communicate component inventory discrepancies/issues with Injection Molding

  • Monitor Kanban inventories daily

  • Work with Senior Systems Analyst to resolve any material issues.

  • Communicate Batch/Product changes to the production line associates and supervisors.

  • Observe all safety and environmental procedures and QSRs.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs miscellaneous duties as required by Supervisor.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • H.S. Diploma/G.E.D. Preferred

Experience and Knowledge

  • Minimum of 1 year as a material handler in a manufacturing environment.

  • Must have proficient mathematical skills to calculate production order information to include quantities to assign to and take away from production orders. 

  • Required to handle and comprehend multiple tasks at all times. 

  • Excellent communication skills are required to optimally communicate and work with others. 

  • Computer literacy highly preferred.  Candidates must possess the ability to learn and operate proficiently in Apriso and SAP.

  • Able to maneuver forklifts in tight areas safely.

  • SAP experience required.

  • Apriso experience preferred.

  • Leadership experience.

Certifications

  • Licensure (Forklift)

  • Valid Driver's License

Work Environment:

  • BD is a smoke-free campus.  Smoking and the use of electronic smoking devices, marijuana, or tobacco products are not allowed on BD property, grounds or in the parking areas.  We appreciate your cooperation in adhering to this policy

  • False eyelashes, press-on fingernails, and Jewelry is not allowed on the production floor including dermals.  Any associate wearing dermals will be required to cover them while working on the production floor. 

  • Shoes are required to be Steel Toe and non-slip for all associates while on the production floor for safety purposes.
