Job Overview:
Primary function is to implement the Quality System within the area of focus and to assure that manufacturing operations meet the quality system requirements.
Responsibilities:
Provide guidance and input to manufacturing and management for quality issues.
Coordinate / Train manufacturing personnel relative to inspection techniques and methods.
Maintain Dept Individual Training Records.
Maintain and update those elements in the plant Quality System within SAP that pertain to the assigned area of responsibility, including documentation of inspection results.
Trend & report department quality metrics.
Investigate specific problem areas in manufacturing to support Engineering.
Initiate and/or respond to corrective and preventative action reports as well as customer complaint investigation/responses.
Apply and interpret ANSI Z1.4 and other sampling plans for predicting percent defective and lot acceptance criteria.
Conduct routine audits to assure compliance to the Quality System and provide support for 3rd party audits.
Must be familiar with Quality Policy and Procedures, blueprints and GMP manuals.
Audit the unit’s compliance to the Quality Policy and Procedures.
Comply with quality, safety, and management policies.
Must be familiar with specifications and documentation associated with operations of this position.
Must exhibit and portray the BD Values.
Assist in Validation Processes and conduct machine and process capability studies on equipment.
Assist Calibration Technician as needed. Assist and support team and Departmental Plant needs.
Communicate on a daily basis with prior and post shift QC Rep.
Must be capable to problem solve and make quality decisions to meet production requirements as necessary.
Adjustable / flexible work schedule as needed by manufacturing operation requirements.
Other duties as requested to support the Manufacturing Departments, cross training potential.
Report directly to Department Quality Manager and have no supervision over others.
Qualifications
Previous experience desired and/or 2-year degree in Quality Technology or related field.
Manufacturing experience and/or Quality Certificate preferred a minimum.
Strong team player exhibiting flexibility, follow through, and leadership.
Must possess strong communication skills.
Good working knowledge of product and manufacturing processes with ability to interpret drawings and specifications. Understanding of Quality Control procedures.
Familiar with process control tools, methods, and inspection equipment/tools.
Experience with Lean and Six Sigma is desired. Fundamentals of QSR and ISO regulations desired.
PCP level 2
High School Diploma / GED
