Technical Trainer

Job Description Summary

Identify training needs, design and deliver training content, develop and execute assessments, and coach job trainers as necessary to ensure effective training/retraining for assigned client groups. Develop, facilitate and support qualification and requalification processes. Ensure training record system integrity and documentation accuracy. Support fulfillment of organizational training needs to meet regulatory and business requirements. Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures. Regular, punctual attendance is an essential job function. Ability to read and write and converse in English. Willing and able to uphold BD Values.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Identification of training needs, development and preparation of content and materials. 

  • Conduct one-on-one, group and on-the-job training as necessary to ensure training needs are being met for all associates. 

  • Develop and conduct assessments of learning to verify transfer of knowledge and training effectiveness. 

  • Identify and fulfill training needs to improve associate performance.  Assist with new hire orientation, identify and communicate process capabilities, mentor on-the-job trainers and facilitate effective communication among associates involved in training activities.   

  • Serve as technical expert of operation for the training area. 

  • Provide feedback to supervisors on training-related issues. 

  • Support development and implementation of standardized training and work processes. 

  • Work flexible hours covering all shifts in order to fulfill training needs. 

  • Support compliance to C2C for Technical Associates

  • Maintain integrity of associate training records and retention systems.  

  • Other duties as required to support the needs of the business.

Education:

  • H.S Diploma/GED Required

  • Post-high school technical training, associate degree or college level education preferred.

Experience:          

  • Two years training experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. 

  • Two years working in the specific manufacturing process/area required. 

  • Previous mechanical experience required. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient with mechanical tools

  • Proficient in communication skills – must be able to work with and train others.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, SAP PM modules required.

  • Ability to plan and organize job tasks to meet deadlines.

  • Be able to communicate across unit both verbally and in writing and take initiative to complete tasks.
