Position Summary
Responsible for creating and executing test methods to characterize hardware within the Central Fill pharmacy automation environment in accordance with sub-system and system-level requirements. You will work within cross-functional and interdisciplinary teams while supporting multiple internal partners and customers.
Throughout this experience, student will learn how to work in an engineering environment, build and hone laboratory skills, and deliver business presentations showcasing their work. BD's internship program is a great opportunity to gain exposure to the medical device industry and BD’s culture.
Key responsibilities:
Work within the Pharmacy Automation Central Fill platform
Support execution of technical and/or cross-functional project work
Ensure the implementation and rigor of product development processes and design control procedures
Perform HW testing and characterization (following design for six sigma- DFSS- methodology), as well as contribute to system integration activities including protocol writing, execution and reporting
Contributes to management of product requirements and subsystem specifications, including conceiving, writing, tracing, characterizing and verifying specification performance.
Collects, analyzes, interprets, and presents results to cross functional colleagues.

Education Qualifications & Previous Experience:
BS/MS/PhD student pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Physics
Sophomore/ Junior (Undergraduate) or Graduate Student
Desired/Additional Skills & Knowledge:
Prior internship/co-op experience
Hands on experience with lab tools and measurement instruments
