At the Enniscorthy facility, we manufacture angioplasty devices for the treatment of Peripheral & Coronary artery disease. In the last years, thanks to our in-house R&D team, we have diversified the offering. We design, develop and manufacture innovative and exciting minimally invasive medical devices associated with peripheral artery disease, diabetes, surgical procedures, and oncology. Our teams bring to the market novel solutions, as well as keep developing internal equipment allowing us to be flexible. Job Description

About the role

The Senior Engineering Manager is responsible for the management of the engineering organization on site. This includes managing sustaining engineering, working with the manufacturing and quality operations team, in supporting successful ongoing manufacturing production outputs. It also includes managing the project engineering team in managing engineering projects as defined through site requirements and strategies.

Aligned to the site strategies and goals, the manager is responsible for developing strategies within the engineering team to sustain and develop equipment and processes within the manufacturing environment to enable ongoing manufacturing, growth pathways and efficiency gains as required by the business.

They are responsible for planning, developing and implementing new product manufacturing platforms to site as required by the business.

The Senior Engineering Manager shares ownership of meeting and/or exceeding business performance goals in the areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People (SQDCP) by engaging the talents of all associates towards the mindset of BD Excellence. The Senior Engineering Manager is a primary point of contact to lead and mentor teams through an effective change process to achieve operational excellence.

The Senior Engineering Manager forms part of the site leadership team supporting cross site goals and initiatives including strategy rollout as defined by the team.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Plan strategies to enable the ability of the site to be successful in goals through the SQDCP process.

  • Develop detailed plans for new product introductions, including planning, development and implementation of new product manufacturing platforms and processes aligned with and supported by functional teams both on and off site.

  • Supporting the manufacturing team through new product ramp up to scale and thereafter supporting through sustaining engineering.

  • Use effective change management techniques to drive and support culture and mindset shifts at a variety of levels in the organization.

  • Develop capabilities within the engineering function to ensure success through an appropriate training process.

  • Hiring and supervisor of the engineering team.

  • Coordinating with site functional leaders and teams on execution of projects aligned to site strategy and goals.

Education and experience:

  • BS Degree in Engineering or related discipline preferred.

  • Eight (8) to ten (10) years total experience in developing, organizing, implementing, and managing projects and assignments preferred

  • Two (2) years supervisory experience or leading teams

  • Minimum of five (5) years in a production environment

  • Proven success with deploying significant change management efforts aligning to knowledge, skills and abilities.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Computer skills (Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.)
