Reporting to the Vice President Procurement Segment Partner, the Sr. Director, Procurement Business Partner is the key point of contact and interface from procurement for the SM business unit currently responsible for >$2B in revenue. This role is responsible for aligning with the entire function or region at the leadership team level, providing strategic procurement leadership to that organization. The Sr. Director, Procurement Business Partner engages the appropriate business leaders and is accountable for the execution of the sourcing strategy associated with the assigned portfolio of direct and indirect spend categories. The Sr. Director, Procurement Business Partner ensures alignment of procurement goals with assigned business. The associate in this role works across both Procurement and the assigned business, and leverages strong business acumen and analytic capability to integrate sourcing, category and business strategies as well as the procure to pay process. The Sr. Director, Procurement Business Partner establishes and leads governance processes on direct and indirect spend for the assigned business. The Sr. Director, Procurement Business Partner is also responsible for the selection, development and management of a team of Procurement Managers / Specialists to insure the efficient and effective procurement support to the assigned business.

The Sr. Director, Procurement Business Partner engages the appropriate business leaders and is accountable for the execution of the sourcing strategy associated with the assigned portfolio of direct and indirect spend categories.  The Sr. Director, Procurement Business Partner ensures alignment of procurement goals with assigned business. The Sr. Director, Procurement Business Partner establishes and leads governance processes on direct and indirect spend for the assigned business.  The Sr. Director, Procurement Business Partner is also responsible for the selection, development and management of a team of Procurement Managers / Specialists to insure the efficient and effective procurement support to the assigned business.

Responsibilities:

  • Builds credibility and collaborative business relationships at the leadership level with the assigned business, function or region ensuring governance across direct and indirect spends
  • Partners with a wide range of procurement leaders and associates to bring together a comprehensive procurement perspective for the assigned business function or region
  • Ensures business needs and key strategies are integrated into leveraged category spend and that there is a clear value proposition for the assigned business to implement sourcing strategies
  • Works with other procurement associates to encourage consensus among various stakeholder groups and achieve objectives
  • Actively identifies gaps, proposes and implements changes necessary to close gaps, which may be related to supplier, processes or other commercial issues
  • Effectively uses all change tools to facilitate adoption of change Contributes to overall functional strategy and procure to pay process improvements
  • Contributes to overall functional strategy and procure to pay process improvements
  • Educates internal / external customers on various technical and procurement process issues
  • engages the appropriate business leaders and is accountable for the execution of the sourcing strategy associated with the assigned portfolio of direct and indirect spend categories
  • ensures alignment of procurement goals with assigned business
  • ensures that savings and value streams from category strategies get built into Class I and Class II commitments at the business or function level
  • plans and manages strategic stakeholder engagements to ensure alignment of activities across the internal and external supply chains
  • selects, develops and manages a team of Procurement Managers / Specialists to insure the efficient and effective procurement support to the assigned business
  • ensures alignment of procurement and customer goals, and consequently plays a key role in influencing significant business decisions and resource planning
  • understands assigned business/ function / region strategy and requirements
  • ensures the assigned business / function / region strategy and requirements are appropriately reflected in the category strategies and implementation plans
  • drives category strategies implementation and STP process improvements into the business / function / region
  • Delivery of results against procurement functional goals committed to the assigned business
  • Overall management of savings and value pipeline through implementation of category strategies for the assigned business to provide a return on spend in excess of five percent returns with commitments for Class I and Class II projects.
  • Improvement on financial position through cost savings, non-price value opportunities and price movement / inflation management and appropriate standard costs
  • Alignment of risk mitigation plans associated with supply base and STP process compliance for assigned business
  • Ensures that savings and value streams from category strategies get built into Class I and Class II commitments at the business or function level
  • Managed and provides leadership support for overall cost to win, synergy savings, go-get savings etc.
  • Maintains relationships with assigned business, function or regional stakeholders.  Influences the respective budgets through communication and consensus on strategies, projects and processes
  • Influences the assigned business budgets through programs and projects driven by internal needs and the procurement agenda.
  • Oversees and communicates PPV forecasting forward price indicator impact (if any) to support assigned business budget needs

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Minimum ten years of work experience
  • If applicable, minimum five years managing professionals
  • Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Supplier Management in either or both Manufacturing and Services environments
  • Broad business knowledge and acumen
  • Strategic sourcing or category management with a history of successful  implementation
  • Supplier value management, supplier development and continuous improvement
  • Champion change and innovation
  • Balances strategic thinking with tactical action to drive results
  • Strategic agility, business acumen and managing complexity
  • Working and influencing within a highly matrixed organization
  • Develops partnerships; builds and maintains strong working relationships
