With innovative pre-fillable syringes, self-injection systems, safety systems and needle technologies, the Pharmaceutical Systems (PS) team offer an extensive selection of solutions designed to protect, package and deliver drug therapies.

About the role

The Global PFS (Pre-fillable Syringes) Portfolio Marketing Director is the head of Portfolio Marketing for the PFS segment of BD Pharmaceutical Systems.

This role will be accountable for providing critical marketing analysis and insights to grow PFS business, develop and position a winning portfolio for the therapeutic categories in which PFS plays, and support customer acquisition and growth of launched products. ln addition, it will lead the marketing competencies for portfolio management, commercial excellence in GPDS, product launch and LCM, within the global and regional teams.

You will be an important member of the Platform Leadership Teams representing worldwide marketing portfolio, responsible for ensuring consistency across worldwide and regional Go to Market execution in line with Platform strategy to win.

Responsibilities also include:

  • Support platforms to define the portfolio offering for each therapeutic category, giving the voice of Marketing. Platforms decide of the strategy for PFS considering the whole ecosystem with the voice of all expertise/functions.
  • Contribute to the annual strategic planning process for portfolio marketing in collaboration with the other marketing functions, Platform VP, VP R&D.
  • Play crucial role in refinement and execution of the portfolio global go-to market (GTM) strategy and collaborates with Regional Marketing, Operational Marketing functions (ABM, demand generation and MarComm), Sales, Commercial Development and other functions to ensure consistency of the Regional GTM execution in line with Platform strategy.
  • Support R&D with the annual Portfolio Review process including evaluation and financial analysis of new concepts and New Product Development (NPD) giving Marketing voice, in conjunction with the broader portfolio of projects in development.
  • Contribute to give marketing analysis, including market share, revenue forecasts and pricing.
  • Involved in the development of material for periodic management reviews with PFS LT, PS LT and senior leadership.

About you:

We seek a strong marketing leader with extensive experience in the Lifesciences or Healthcare industry. Ideally, this person will have experience woring in an organisation which sells products or services B2B to the Pharmaceutical Industry, for example research equipment, software or packaging.

You will be process-oriented, collaborative, strong at multi-tasking, action oriented and driven for results.

The successful candidate will also have:

  • Excellent experience in strategic marketing, new product commercialization, product marketing and strategic planning.
  • Proven track record in upstream (inbound) strategic marketing, including ability to partner with R&D and oversee/lead teams on new product development, including product roadmaps, supporting new project concept, definition, development, launch and commercialization.
  • Ability to coach and develop a team to develop highly differentiated new products. Product launch experience necessary.
  • Proven track record in brand development and classical marketing, including market segmentation, customer segmentation, targeting, value proposition development, positioning, promotion, pricing, forecast, budget and performance management.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinker, organized problem solving with strategic agility.
  • Demonstrated success leading and supporting cross-functional teams.
  • Strong teamwork orientation.
