Job Description Summary
To assist with the sales, support and marketing of BD Biosciences Research Solutions including instruments and reagents to existing and new customers through the provision of Applications Support, training and customer support, key relationship management and targeted promotional activities.
This role can be based in Sydney or Melbourne.
Responsibilities:
Achievement of agreed sales targets for the BD Biosciences Flow Cytometry Instrumentation, Research Reagents, Clinical Flow Cytometry Reagents and Single Cell Multiomics instruments and reagents by supporting Territory Managers and Engineers with applications and technical support in both the the Life Science Research market and Clinical Diagnostic Market.
Provide an ‘in house’ training facility utilising available instrumentation to offer customers ‘on going’ or ‘refresher’ training courses. Where training is a BD product and charged appropriately.
Review and preparation of Training Materials for customers and technical specialists.
Maintain vigilance of our customer base so as to quickly identify training requirements for new and existing users.
Initiate a training programme on new products for relevant BD associates of the Biosciences team.
Identify and report potential leads for the Flow Cytometry instruments and reagents of products in Clinical Laboratories, Research institutions and universities in Australia and New Zealand.
Support the Business Team in the marketing of the Flow Cytometry instruments by providing education, product training and technical assistance to all existing customers.
Provide management with information on activity in the market place, which includes including competitive activity, product assessment and market surveys.
Provide management with a written report on technical and training activities with analysis to include market information and related issues.
Maintain a high level of technical expertise and product knowledge, and keep up-to-date with changes in market environment and relevant technologies that may occur in the sciences we support.
Maintain company property, including computer equipment, in good working condition and also maintain an image that reflects the professional standards of Becton Dickinson at all times.
Knowledge and Experience:
Completed tertiary education up to BSc or equivalent in life sciences as a minimum
PhD in Immunology or related field preferable
Excellent product knowledge of, and expertise relating to Flow Cytometry in both Research Laboratories and Clinical Diagnostic laboratories
Product knowledge and experience in Single Cell Multiomics desirable
At least 3 - 5 years laboratory experience in operating Flow Cytometry instrumentation in either an Immunology Laboratory or Clinical Diagnostic Laboratory.
Previous experience and demonstrated ability in business acumen and commercial skills preferred
