Job Description Summary

As an Account Manager, your role will be pivotal in driving the sales of BD Diagnostic Solutions portfolio in Wallonia and Luxemburg. The focus for this role will be on selling medical microbiology instrumentation and associated reagents into the Clinical Biology Laboratories. You will report to the Sales Manager Belux.

Our vision for BD Integrated Diagnostic Solutions at BD

The BD Integrated Diagnostic Solutions (IDS) business unit aims to drive growth and develop our footprint within the clinical laboratories across the complete IDS portfolio (from Specimen Management to Diagnostic Solutions).

About the role

You will be responsible for the sales of the BD IDS-Diagnostic Solution portfolio by direct sales activities, the aim being to grow and develop the sales revenue in the territory (Wallonia and Luxemburg French speaking region ). This role will report to the Sales Manager Belux.


  • Start with a familiarization phase with product trainings to learn about the product portfolio and develop relationships with internal and external collaborators.
  • Develop account plans and complete sales strategies and tactics that support business growth objectives in short to medium term.
  • Identify and prepare opportunities for the longer term.
  • Interact with decision-making units and be a reliable partner to our customers throughout the sales process.
  • Apply a project-based approach in your daily activities that lead to a successful implementation of our solutions, using the right resources at the right time.
  • Be trained to use the tools that are crafted to follow up and report on your territory to the Belux Sales Manager (e.g., Power BI,, BD Way of Selling)
  • Participate in congresses, seminars to meet potential new customers and to expand your knowledge for customer contact.

Experience and qualifications:

  • Successful sales experience in a lab environment or within medical devices with capital equipment sales.
  • Degree in the clinical/scientific field.
  • You have strong interpersonal and communication skills. Proficiency in French and English is required.
  • Established network in the medical laboratory market
  • Holding a valid driver’s license as this position involves customer visits in the region.
  • Proven eye for business and critical thinking
  • Result-driven and action oriented
