Responsibilities:
- Assist in the pre-implementation and sales process by negotiating with various stake holders such as IT security teams to ensure the acceptance of the BD Informatics solutions into the customers IT environment.
- Collaborate with all the relevant internal and external stakeholders for implementation success including:
- Customer stakeholders from the laboratory or other institution, IT / IHIS / LIS
- Project Manager
- Field Service Engineers
- Product Specialists
- Technical Solutions Manager
- Lab Automation Manager
- Country Business Leader
- Collaborate with all the relevant internal and external stakeholders for implementation success including:
- Provide soltuion architecture and design information to the sales team for opportunity development and progression.
- Lead the implementation & customisation of BD Informatics (software) supporting:
- Integrating the BD Informatics solution into the customers IT infrastructure.
- Interfacing with BD Diagnostics instruments.
- Connectivity to the customer’s existing environment and third party software systems. i.e. HIS, LIS connectivity in hospital or lab setting.
- Majority of hands-on time working with customers will be IT focused, working with Laboratory and Hospital IT departments to co-ordinate their provision of the server and network infrastructure required to support the BD informatics solution.
- Other opportunities may involve pharmacy, or private sector settings and will require integration with retail or other informatics platforms.
- Perform implementation activities including:
- Engage with customer stake holders to ensure the technical IT requirements for BD Informatics products are met prior to implementation. This includes, network port activation, VLAN/LAN configuration, firewall whitelisting, AV whitelisting, Virtual Server commissioning and SQL Server provisioning.
- Application installation and configuration
- Establishing connectivity of BD Informatics with all BD DS instruments and hospital / laboratory informatics systems.
- Ensure redundancies are in place to maximise customer up time such as database backups, application file backups and VM snapshots.
- Provide support for customer (HL7, ASTM and CSV) interface development with BD informatics solutions.
- Provide ongoing support to BD customers by providing services such as:
- Remotely provide technical assistance when customers experience system down time or malfunction.
- Perform software updates and upgrades as required.
- Perform scheduled security patching as required.
- Perform database management activities as required.
- Escalate system defects or requests for change.
- Engage with new and existing customers to implement BD’s Remote Support Services solution
Requirements:
- BS/BA Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Networking and Cybersecurity or closely related technical discipline.
- Previous experience preferred in medical technology, middleware devices (e.g. LIS, HIS and etc.), PC / IT knowledge, networking and interface protocols, experience in a hospital setting supporting IT infrastructure such as servers, virtual machines and networking.
- Previous experience deploying informatics solutions across a wide area nework for large organisation with multiple sites.
- In depth knowledge of Information Systems
- Possess technical skills and knowledge with communication interface protocols, cabling & networking, data stream analysis and troubleshooting
