Job Summary

The Product Manager is responsible for the development and execution of strategic marketing plans for Microbiology in Southeast Asia region, providing guidance to country teams to achieve the defined business objectives.

This role will have responsibility for managing all aspects of marketing including new product launches, product life cycle management, marketing campaigns and clinical events.

The role requires strong collaboration between internal stakeholders as well as key opinion leaders to develop and execute product launches.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning & Execution

  • Assist in the development and implementation of marketing strategies to achieve business objectives in Southeast Asia
  • Assist in the development of yearly Annual Strategic Review (ASR) plan
  • Development, implementation and monitoring of Microbiology marketing plan and launch plans that defines 'where to play' including market size, market trends, segmentation, buying process, customer needs, and competitive capabilities, and ‘how to win’, go-to-market plan; value proposition, pricing and market shaping strategy
  • Collaborate with regional and country teams to align marketing plans with business goals.


Market Analysis and Market Development

  • Identify market trends and insights to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Lead the monitoring and analysis of SEA market (competition, industry trends, public policies) and develop compelling value proposition and value offers across Microbiology portfolio
  • Partner with key stakeholders in global, region and country to identify and execute growth strategies
  • Oversee Market Development Activities in collaboration with regional and country teams – Driving HCP Education programs, KOL Roadshows, Clinical conferences, omnichannel campaigns

Product Lifecycle Management

  • Oversee product portfolio management, including new product launches and lifecycle strategies across Microbiology portfolio (Blood Culture, IDAST, Clinical Media, Industrial Microbiology, TB, Lab Automation, Synapsys)
  • Collaborate with regional and country marketing team to ensure product offerings meet market needs
  • Act as a partner in the demand review process for assigned product lines with regional functional partners
  • Adapting of global marketing collaterals to countries, ensuring product collaterals and content are approved and released timely in each SEA country

Market Shaping & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Develop customer relationships in conjunction with Regional Medical Affairs, HEOR/Public Affairs and country teams to establish multi-level relationships with key customers, advocacy groups, C-suite private and government stakeholders, associations to shape policies, practices, and clinical guidelines that provide BD with a competitive advantage.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare providers, government agencies, and industry partners.

Our Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Microbiology preferred, or equivalent in Life sciences
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare, medical device or diagnostics marketing experience, with proven success
  • Desired technical and laboratory and/or scientific background, preferably in the microbiology field (at least 5-8 years), with good knowledge of microbiology laboratory processes and techniques
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Effective communication skills to clearly articulate technical and product information to both internal and external customers
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities, plan schedules and coordinate with SEA countries and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Comfortable working in a cross functional dynamic team environment
  • Dealing with Ambiguity.
  • Working through matrix
