Job Summary:
The Account Executive (AE) for Central Pennsylvania will be responsible for building relationships and driving sales through key accounts within the assigned territory by introducing new products and services, expanding business opportunities, improving customer satisfaction and increasing market share in compliance with all regulatory requirements and corporate policies/procedures. The AE will provide input into developing local strategies, forecasting, product portfolio management and inventory control decisions as well as maintaining an awareness of competitive activity and trends in the regional markets.  The position is also responsible for executing special projects as defined by Sales Management.

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and implement marketing plans aligned with the Regional’s objectives to meet or exceed sales targets; maintain regular, planned communication with key customers ensuring that BD has a strong understanding of each account’s needs and priorities.  

  • Gain an in-depth knowledge of the entire product line, as well as industry trends, buying influences, and competitor’s strengths and weaknesses.  

  • Identify and communicate upward trends and changes in the marketplace and competitors activities.  

  • Maintain organized records, including accurate and timely documentation of all sales related data.  

  • Demonstrates selling skills and techniques that result in profitable sales.  

  • Manage distributor relationships, if applicable.  

  • Provide feedback on market conditions and trends to internal departments such as Marketing, Product Development, Customer Service, etc., as well as communicating upward trends and changes in the marketplace and competitors activities.  

  • Ensure that all customers are treated fairly, equally and with respect regardless of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability or national origin.  

  • Ensure that all customer complaints are investigated and responded to in a fair and equitable manner.  

  • Become actively involved in community affairs and promote BD as a good corporate citizen.  

  • Support BD's Sustainability initiatives by promoting our Environmental Policy to customers and trade associations.  


Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required preferably in Business Administration, Engineering, Pharmacy or Science

  • 2+ years relevant work experience required

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and decision making ability

  • Effective use of Microsoft Office programs

  • Ability to travel frequently throughout the territory

  • Strong analytical and presentation skills

  • Highly motivated to achieve goals

  • Ability to operate effectively in a rapidly changing environment

  • Proven success working independently

  • Experience in medical device industry preferred

  • Valid driver license required
