Job Description Summary

The Diagnostic solution expert for Microbiology and Lab Automation plays a crucial role in supporting in pre-sales activities and responsible for integration, optimization, maintenance and troubleshooting of microbiology processes at the clinical microbiology customers. The purpose is to enhance DS presence in the market by frequent customer facing events to support current users and growth of new opportunities.

This role requires a deep understanding of clinical microbiology workflows, and preferably experience in laboratory automation within clinical microbiology lab, sepsis/blood culture diagnostics and IT/connectivity principles.

This role is field based with an home office, and majority of the work will take place in Sweden but also in other Nordic countries. The candidate needs to feel comfortable with independent work and one day is not the same as the other. At the same time this roll communicates and collaborate with many other BD positions like account managers, sales manager, other application specialists, technical service, medical affairs and more.

Our vision for Integrated Diagnostic Solutions at BD

By aligning and simplifying our work, our Integrated Diagnostic Solutions (IDS) business unit aims to drive growth and innovation around everything from integrated specimen management to diagnostic solutions.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Apply knowledge of microbiology principles, techniques, and best practices to optimize laboratory workflows in laboratories using DS solutions/products.
  • Collaborate with different stakeholders in the laboratory to understand their needs and provide solutions and trainings.
  • Collaborate with sales organization to position DSs different solutions with focus on classical microbiology.
  • Collect market information, guideline changes, competitive information, and feedback that into BD organization and utilize when positioning of products.
  • Attend conferences and exhibitions.
  • Coordinate user meetings and customer days.
  • Reply to tenders.
  • Document customer interactions in CRM-system.

About you

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Microbiology, Biomedical Sciences, Bioengineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in microbiology laboratory operations and techniques.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience of working in a clinical microbiology laboratory.
  • Good understanding of laboratory automation systems and robotics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Driving license
  • Live in Sweden and fluent in Swedish and English. Additional Nordics language is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel mainly within the Nordic countries (50%)
