Our Peripheral Intervention (PI) business unit offers a comprehensive range of medical products, devices and services for the treatment of peripheral arterial and venous disease, cancer detection, and end-stage renal disease and maintenance.

Summary of Position with General Responsibilities:
As an Area Manager, you will achieve sales objectives in line with the marketing plan through effective management of personnel and resources.

The primary responsibilities of this role, are to:
• Implement, direct, and control district sales activities.
• Recommend, implement, and promote contests and other incentive programs.
• Recruit, interview, and select sales and clinical personnel.
• Develop district personnel to assume increased responsibilities.
• Operate a district sales office and maintain pertinent records.
• Plan and conduct district sales meetings.
• Communicate with the Area Vice President of Sales on pricing, product acceptance, industry/competitive trends, and marketing strategies.
• Travel with sales associates and clinical specialists within the geography on a weekly basis.
• Recommend changes in compensation for district employees.

Skills
• Ability to motivate sales employees.
• Knowledge of hospital buying practices and key influences.
• Working knowledge of management by objectives.
• Ability to direct sales representatives to achieve corporate goals.

Experience & Education
• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Five years of outside medical sales experience or equivalency.
• Demonstrated human relations and communication skills.
• Proven top 20% sales performance in multiple years.
• Successful proven track record of leading people and/or teams.

Job Summary:
The East Women’s Health Manager will be responsible for working closely with the Medical Sales Representatives (MSR) to provide education on the clinical benefits of BD products, ensuring compliance with all regulations, while building relationships with key customers in their territory. This role covers South Yorkshire & North Lincolnshire and has responsibility for 12 MSRs.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the MSRs to ensure they are delivering the best possible service to our customers by providing them with clinical advice and guidance as well as being available to answer any queries they may have.
  • Deliver training sessions to new starters and existing employees on topics such as product knowledge, selling skills, customer engagement, compliance, and market trends.
  • Ensure all MSRs are aware of the latest clinical evidence relating to BD products through regular communication and attendance at conferences.
  • Actively encourage the development of long term partnerships between BD and key customers within each MSR’s territory.
  • Identify opportunities to grow sales within each territory by identifying gaps in product portfolio and developing strategies to address these gaps.
  • Monitor sales performance and identify areas where additional support is required.
  • Maintain up-to-date records on customer activity through the CRM system and share this information with the MSRs to help them plan their activity.
  • Assist the MSRs to develop and implement local marketing plans aligned to the overall business strategy.
  • Develop strong relationships with key opinion leaders and decision makers within each territory to help drive awareness of BD products.
  • Work closely with the Regional Director to devise and implement tactics to achieve the objectives set out in the Business Plan.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in a relevant industry, preferably medical devices or pharmaceuticals.
  • Experience in women’s health desirable but not essential.
  • Clinical background desirable but not essential.
  • Strong commercial acumen with excellent negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships internally and externally at all levels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information to a non-technical audience.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Willingness to travel regularly throughout the UK
