Job Description:
The intern will support a number of engineers and technicians on the Machine Design and Automation Team.
The intern will build and program equipment to be used in manufacturing environments. While the designs are complete, the intern will be required to interpret engineering drawings, coordinate purchasing and machining of components, complete construction of the machine(s), and is encouraged to find opportunities for improvement. If time allows, the intern will support qualification activities. Engineering support and training will be provided as needed by the Machine Design and Automation Team.
Responsibilities
Assist in conducting experiments and collecting data
Provide general administrative support such as scheduling meetings, maintaining files, and communicating via e-mail and telephone
Work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
Solve technical issues related to laboratory equipment and processes
Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions
Minimum Qualification
Legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelors degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
Minimum GPA of 3.0
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Available to work onsite, full time (40 hours per week) during summer break.
Familiarity with SolidWorks or similar CAD software
Preferred Qualification
PLC Programming Experience
