Scrum Product Owner

With thousands of medications making their way through a hospital and to patients every day, the medication management process is complex, and medication errors and inefficiencies are unfortunately inevitable.
BD is committed to breaking the harmful cycle of medication errors and simplifying medication management to bring safety and practice together in measurable ways. We offer infusion and IV therapy systems, solutions and devices including infusion pumps, server software, interoperability with hospital information systems, and vascular access devices and accessories. From the hospital pharmacy to the patient bedside, they help protect every infusion for each patient at all times. BD offers a comprehensive suite of infusion software solutions to improve patient safety, reduce costs and optimize infusion management.
About the role
- Work with internal stakeholders, such as business, marketing and clinical representatives, to analyze needs and align product roadmaps and backlogs to strategic goals
- Develop appropriately detailed product backlog items and specifications for product features so that they are clearly understood by the development team
- Work with the developers and testers in and around Vienna on a daily basis
- Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring that the team is focused on delivering high-quality increments
- Collaborate internationally with our R&D development center in Ireland, and with globally-distributed stakeholders
Must-haves
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Life Sciences or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- Professional experience as a scrum product owner, requirements engineer, software system engineer or similar role, working within an agile framework
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to develop relationships with team members and stakeholders (technical and non-technical)
- A proven capacity for interdisciplinary collaboration, and the ability to quickly gain an understanding of new, challenging domains
- Fluent in English, German is a plus
- Analytical skills, attention to details
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in healthcare, ideally medical device software and familiarity with regulatory standards in the medical device industry
- Professional Scrum Product Owner certification
- Experience working across multiple time zones
- Bonus skills: proficiency in Mandarin and/or experience collaborating with Chinese corporations to facilitate effective communication with one of our partners

The minimum annual gross salary for this position is € 44.450,00 (annual full-time basis, based on ST1/Einstiegsstufe 2025 IT KV). Based on individual skills and experience, we offer appropriate additional payment.
